I am thankful for the opportunity to attend the Conference "Micro-credentials: What, Why, Who and How?", dedicated to explore the implementation of #microcredentials as a form of #lifelonglearning, #inclusion and up and reskilling pathway,  and to lean with and to speak to all of the experts attending from across Europe 🙏 Through the panel discussions held and the different workshops carried out, it was clear that the definition of what micro-credentials are is more and more understood, but on the other hand there is stil work to be done to find a standardised framework to ensure their #quality, #recognition and #transferability. This relies on the active involvement of policy and decision makers in all discussions being held by representatives of #vocationaleducationandtraining and #businesses, as well as national qualification authorities (as in this Conference). 🎓 Participation in the Digital Transformation of VET Workshop 2024 🚀 🎉 We are excited to share that our team from the Service for University Didactics and Digital Skills had the opportunity to participate in the Digital Transformation of Vocational Educational and Training (VET) Workshop 2024, held last week from March 7-8 in Seville, Spain. This event was organized by the European Commission - Joint Research Commission! VET is the sector of education and training systems closest to the labour market. Its mission is to equip learners with skills that have direct relevance for the labour market and specific occupations/professions. In the era of digital transformation 💻 that is affecting all areas of our lives, understanding the needs and characteristics of VET is crucial. As the bridge between the education and training world and the world of work, the VET sector can play a significant role in facilitating the digital transformation process for both learners and future workers. To support the digital transformation process of VET, including work-based learning modalities, VET is focusing on the following lines of research: 📈 Emerging trends and technologies in VET, from the practitioners’ side. 🚀 Enablers of digital transformation of VET. 📚 VET systems Case studies. 🔧 Full development (fine-tune of the current available version) of the SELFIE WBL tool, as a resource for VET institutions and training companies. #Didanum #Unifr #DigitalTransformation #VET

The future of vocational education and training is crucial for economic prosperity in Europe and thus for the social participation of EU citizens. Only through education can prosperity and thus social equality be promoted and social disruption minimized. Education also increases understanding of democratic processes.

finishing up at ADEA2024, the two reflections that stand out for me at this meeting were on integrating biomedical sciences into the curriculum [delivered multiple times by multiple facilitators in multiple settings] and on competency based education contextualized to entrustable professional activities [measured multiple times by multiple evaluators in multiple settings] concordance between learner self assessment and faculty assessment, and consistency and reproduceability were themes that ran throughout the interactions I had #curriculum #curriculumdevelopment

Our #Nearvet team 🇪🇺 has been working on setting up the NEARVET Digital hub. 💻 🟧 The NEARVET Digital Hub offers a framework for practitioners involved in progressing applied research in VET to access opportunities, to exchange and cooperate on applied research project ideas, partners search, knowledge exchange and innovation transfer. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲: 🔷 Digital and interactive learning material and resources, including through a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) addressing the required skills based on the NEARVET Blueprint; 🔷learning, exchange and capacity building actions with and for VET trainers, teachers, intermediaries, managers, brokers, and their peer in the private sector, company representations, universities and research institutes. They will be the members of the NEARVET Digital Community of Practice; 🔷Open access Online Research Journal, offering open data, preprint and open peer review features. To kick of the final 3 months of our project, we as the AIRinVET team gathered at the office of our project coordinator TKNIKA. Within the Erasmus+ project BARCOVE (Building Applied Research into CoVE), VET School EFA La Malvesia (Spain) is responsible for delivering a Recipe Book where Applied Research cases involving Vet Schools, Companies in the Green and Blue Sector, and Start-ups are designed, tested, monitored and developed for the current market. ✍   The Recipe Book will also include Training Modules around how to engage education and company stakeholders in applied innovation research. Today we are progressing in one of the training modules: How to train coaches coordinating work groups in an Applied Research Hackathon. Exploring Sports Information Systems (SIS) In the coming posts, I’ll be sharing key insights from my dissertation, which focused on two major areas: Training Science and Sports Informatics (—> very much in the spirit of our Chair of Training Science and Sports Informatics). My research centered around Sports Information Systems (SIS), often also referred to as Athlete Management Systems (AMS), and aimed to unify the scattered knowledge from the general training science literature into a cohesive model. I developed a complex structural model of training science, integrating terms and concepts into a clear framework provide a glossary with definitions (original, modified, and new when necessary) and precise references to the primary literature. This, combined with fundamental information systems models from computer science, formed the basis for an SIS architecture concept. I also conducted a market analysis of existing SIS solutions.
