The EU H2020 GREENPEG project has completed 4 ½ years of pioneering work in mineral exploration, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the discovery of buried pegmatite resources. Through an integrated toolset of 26 advanced tools 🛠️, three cutting-edge geophysical innovations 🌐 and two open-access databases 📊, EU H2020 GREENPEG has created a highly adaptable exploration solution that sets a new standard for efficient and sustainable resource discovery 🌍. 🙏 Many thanks to our consortium from 8 different European countries of academia 🎓, industry 🏢 and not-for-profit organisations whose collaboration has made this achievement possible. 💼PNO is proud to have been part of this consortium. Another great example of Akzo technologies providing solutions to withstand extremely harsh conditions. It’s an achievement that would have Jules Verne tingling. A landmark deep-sea drilling vessel has been launched by China which is capable of boring into the Earth’s crust. Protected by more than 300,000 liters of AkzoNobel's International marine coatings, it will embark on multiple missions, including deep-sea resource exploration and long-range marine research. When it comes to exploration technology, the PL14 stands out for its efficiency and minimal impact on the environment: - The PL14 exploration survey eliminates the need for extensive clearing of land, unlike traditional methods. -This non-intrusive approach involves minimal noise, with only the sound of a 4X4 vehicle moving between sites, a small generator, and the hand-held rotary hammer for drilling and installing electrodes. The PL14 technology offers a more sustainable and quieter way to conduct exploration surveys, ensuring minimal disruption to the surroundings.

Industrial impacts and strategies - application of digital technologies and sustainable approaches. *** A colleague of ours from the Brazilian oil sector recently explained in a publication that an advanced technology will virtually simulate the processes of lifting and draining oil in offshore wells, and will provide real-time data that will allow us to predict problems before they occur, thus increasing efficiency and improving decision-making in day-to-day operations. She also explained to us that the use of this technological resource is due to its validation, after two years of rigorous testing, on the FPSO Cidade de Anchieta and P-57 platforms, two important #PETROBRAS operational units. This information sounded like a “key” to me. To put it simply, when we think about technological innovation, we are talking about real operational demands aimed at improving performance. It would not make sense to develop or acquire this type of digital technology without first being reasonably aware of the scope of applications it will have in industrial processes. I can imagine what the psychological or emotional impact must have been on Latin American and Asian industrialists and entrepreneurs in 1851 and 1855, in London and Paris, at those Universal Exhibitions, when they witnessed the European technological innovations etc. presented there. But what perhaps goes unnoticed is that all of that was used to introduce operational improvements in the traditional production processes existing in those same countries. The technological trajectory is built step by step. In the previous case, of the “digital twin”, the oil will continue to rise through the pipeline, driven by some mechanical or electromechanical artificial elevation device. And it would be very good if local technologies, mechanical and electromechanical, are available and continually improved. In short, the industrial fabric is broad in its nature and characteristics, whether in the oil sector or any other. Taking our own body as an example, the cell tissue that composes it is varied and complementary, from the cells in our bones to those in our neurons. All cells are necessary, regardless of their sophistication.
