In ten years, up to 80% of retail processes could be taken over by AI, believes Felix Schweikardt from visioncheckout. However, he assumes that it will actually only be closer 40% because AI integration is taking longer than expected. However, visioncheckout is already teaching the cameras to see what the customer is buying. With this automation they create more efficiency in retail. In canteens, for example, the cameras visually recognize what is on the tray. It is then booked into the system and collected via self-checkout. This significantly reduces waiting times. At the same time, the system analyzes the data for better processes and higher quality. Another point: staff can be deployed where they are needed most. This saves up to 60 % on personnel costs. How can you practically improve your processes with AI? Send us a DM and tell us about your use case in our EuroShop.mag!

We’re in the middle of the race to AGI, yet most supply chain logistics companies are still figuring out spreadsheet automations. How did we get here? The entire supply chain industry is about 10+ years behind the technological adoption curve. In fact, there are thousands of businesses out there that still do business via phone calls, email, manually filled spreadsheets, and disorganized Google Drive folders. AI can’t be effective when there’s no data for it to use. So, before these industries can begin to leverage AI, they first need to take the basic step of digitizing. It’s only after the supply chain industry digitizes that it will be able to leverage AI. That’s because the quality of an LLM is determined by the quality of its inputs. The more (digital) data that the industry can produce to train an AI model, the more useful that model will be to the industry! Before we can modernize, we must digitize 🤖

What are your barriers to adopting AI? Retailers and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies aspire to maximise margins in an optimally efficient way. And adaptive AI is proving to be a powerful way to make that dream a reality. Not least because of the benefits it can bring to demand forecasting and inventory planning. But many businesses are holding back because of perceived concerns about AI adoption. Is yours one of them? The fear of AI technologies replacing human employees is common. But often unfounded. In fact, a recent Future of Jobs Report by the World Economic Forum predicts that, by 2025, AI and automation will lead to a net increase of 12 million jobs globally. Rather than replacing humans, the report points out, AI is expected to augment human capabilities and improve productivity. How? By allowing employees to focus on higher-level tasks that require creativity and critical thinking – attributes that are absolutely required when actioning demand forecasts and inventory plans. Time for a re-think? Check out the advice in this article from two AI experts at @Antuit.ai, part of Zebra : https://lnkd.in/e4VD4GmY #AI #innovation #zebraemployee
