Deciding to continue is the best decision you can ever make. Some time ago, I chose to study Microbiology. Although I completed my studies, I didn’t originally intend to grow in that field. Along the way, I was introduced to LinkedIn, and I joined with the sole purpose of finding a job. Little did I know there was so much to learn, unlearn, and relearn in this space. This realization came after I connected with Mary Odili, MNIFST . Joining her network has been transformative. Since then, I’ve gained invaluable insights. I’ve had two impactful sessions with her. In our first session, she covered key skill sets essential for career growth, including: 🍭Project management skills 🍭Regulatory compliance knowledge 🍭Data analysis skills 🍭Communication and collaboration skills Leadership and teamwork But that’s not all. The second session was amazing! It focused on optimizing LinkedIn as a platform. We covered topics like 🎈understanding the LinkedIn algorithm, 🎈connecting with professionals, 🎈staying consistent, and making meaningful connections. I’m eagerly looking forward to the upcoming session this Saturday and the opportunity to learn even more. #microbiology #foodtechnology #foodsafety #qualitycontrol

Day9💪💪 LinkedIn has opened my eyes to many opportunities in microbiology. I initially thought there weren’t many jobs or opportunities in the field until I joined LinkedIn and connected with people in my discipline. At that time, I was looking for a one-month industrial placement I was worried about where to go but joined LinkedIn and connected with people who helped me and was able to secure it. I was also able to find a four-month industrial placement as well, I asked professionals questions about things I didn’t understand, which helped me gain clarity. As an undergraduate microbiologist I attended online seminars and connected with professionals on LinkedIn which has broadened my understanding of microbiology. Before, I had limited knowledge of my field and often felt intimidated, but now I feel much more confident. These interactions have not only kept me informed about recent studies but have also opened doors to many valuable opportunities I've gained insights on research opportunities, career paths, and industry trends that have been instrumental in shaping my career goals. I’m always open to connecting with fellow microbiologists and professionals! Let’s grow together and support each other’s journeys. #MicrobiologyandFoodscience #Linkedinconnect #Day9of20

HOW I TRADED MY PETRI DISH FOR A DREAM CAREER 😂(And Lived to Tell the Tale)... Wait!!!! you must be wondering what a petri dish is..... basically, it's a small container used to grow microorganisms. Now that I have satisfied your curiosity..... Let's move ahead......... Last week, I shared my story of transitioning from microbiology to my current field. It wasn't easy, but I'm proud of how far I've come. I remember when I first started, I doubted myself and wondered if I had made a mistake. But I didn't give up. I kept learning, showing up, and pushing forward. It wasn't easy, but slowly I started to see progress. My confidence grew, and I began to feel more comfortable in my new role. I learned that loving a career isn't enough, you need to put in the work to make it happen. Today, I'm proud to say that I'm moving forward in my career. I'm not perfect, but I'm committed to continuous learning and growth. If you're struggling with your own career transition, I hope my story can inspire you to keep pushing forward. Remember, it's okay to doubt yourself, but don't give up. Keep learning, growing, and pushing forward. ___________________________________________ What's your key to successful career transition???. #CareerTransition #Resilience #ContinuousLearning #20DayLinkedInShowUpChallengeWithNwanyieze #14daysvisibilitywithuduak

My Career path as a MTech Biotech Finding my Career path wasn't so easy for me, Since I graduated, I have went to Biocon Academy but came back with a heavy heart. Then, pursued post graduated, I Started exploring my career path, I had opted my career paths to Research field starting from R & D Downstream Biocon to a Project Assosiate at Adamas University, but from everywhere I had to sometimes forcefully and sometimes due to many unfortunate situations had to resign. During these phases I had gained a lot exposures and learnt emmense lessons & I made certain mistakes and learnt through my blunders. I saw all these as a opportunity to learn and not as my instability to withstand a proper job. With getting a drawback from everywhere, I have started developing my skills in domains of #dataanalytics #businessanalytics #clinicalresearch, where I can shift to corporates. I have taken certification courses of #dataanalytics #powerbi #advance_excel & now I'm with blend of various exposures with unique blend of various skills and perspectives. Embracing this learning phase and continuing to grow, where I'll intersect all this experiences to find a perfect Job that fits my potential and skills. After this preparation phase and now I'm confident enough that I would find my dream Job & Shine Brighter. In Between this I had faced a lots of Challenges, Low Self esteem & Lack of confidence. I would humbly request my #connections if there's any opportunity to find a suitable post for my career growth. Kindly help me out with a #job_opportunity where I can fit in #ItsOkToSwitchCareerAsFresherUntilYouFindWhereYouFit #connections #MNCs #JobOppprtunity

Great visit to Bayer (Bayer | Crop Science) yesterday with the FFAR Fellows (FFAR Fellows Program: Future Leaders for Food & Agriculture). A generous group of scientists shared their advice for graduate students applying to industry jobs: 1) Don’t doubt your qualifications. If you are interested in a role, apply for it! Let those hiring make the call on your eligibility. 2) The industry roles you apply for should also include topics tangential to your research area, not just your area of expertise. 3) It is important to build connections for at least a year before applying for jobs. It can only help if you are on the radar of those hiring. For example, if a position opens up that you are a good fit for. 4) Apply for jobs before you need one to understand what your future offers may look like. As a bonus, you will gain valuable interview experience. 5) As a graduate student, don’t forget the 4-6 years of experience you have gained in leadership and managing projects. This is often valued as work experience by industry. 6) Scientific publications are important, but sharing your knowledge through other routes, like blogs or industry publications, is valued just as heavily by industry. 7) In interviews and applications, share your area of expertise, but remember to also share what helped you become an expert: work ethic, project management, problem-solving, etc. I’m curious: what advice would you give to graduate students applying for industry jobs?

TURNING CHALLENGES INTO OPPORTUNITIES. Hello LinkedIn! As I dive into this networking challenge, I’d love to share a couple of experiences from my academic journey and internships that really highlight my problem-solving skills and teamwork. Academic Experiences Project on Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis: For my project titled "Epidemiology and Distribution of Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis in Some Parts of Imo State from 2015-2020," I hit a major roadblock when it came to gathering reliable data. Finding consistent information across different regions was no easy feat! To tackle this, I reached out to local health officials and delved into community health records. This collaboration not only enriched my research but also helped me build valuable connections for future studies. Seminar on Eradication of Infectious Diseases: During my seminar on "Eradication of Infectious Diseases: The Role of Biotechnology," I quickly realized that breaking down complex biotechnological concepts for a diverse audience could be quite challenging. To make it easier, I created engaging visual aids and encouraged interactive discussions. It was so rewarding to see the audience light up with curiosity and ask questions! Work Experiences SKG Pharma Ltd: While interning at SKG Pharma Ltd, I noticed some inconsistencies in our documentation process during the sampling and testing of raw materials. It became clear we needed a better system. So, I took the initiative to review our protocols and suggested a standardized template for documentation. This change made our reporting clearer, reduced errors, and improved our quality assurance processes. UAC Foods Limited: At UAC Foods Limited, I faced challenges with varying quality standards for raw materials that were impacting our final products. To tackle this, I organized a brainstorming session with my team to share insights. Collaborating with colleagues from different departments helped us establish stronger quality control measures. It was inspiring to see how teamwork can lead to real improvements in product consistency and safety! I hope these examples give you a glimpse into my problem-solving abilities and passion for teamwork! I’m excited to connect with others who have similar experiences or insights. Let’s keep the conversation going! #ProblemSolving #Teamwork #20DaysWithOdilimary #LevelUpWithMary
