🎯 BESST Project at NOC Slovenia Days 2024: Driving Safe Sport Forward Key findings from the Building European Safe Sport Together (BESST) project were presented at the Olympic Committee of Slovenia Days (Oct 15-16, 2024, Portorož). Co-funded by the EU, BESST aims to create a European sports environment free from transgressive behaviour. The event featured a round table on Integrity and Safeguarding in Sport, with diverse panellists, including athletes' rights advocates, legal professionals, government officials, and Peter Dokl from OKS, who also represented project BESST. On the second day, Andreja McQuarrie shared project outcomes on behalf of the project partners, including Academy Rudi Hiti, who was in attendance with a large audience of key figures in Slovenian sports. Project research indicates that European sports organisations are still in the early stages of safeguarding readiness, highlighting the need for ongoing efforts. In our daily work, we strive to promote diversity and inclusion in sports foundations and federations. Therefore, many of our employees can dedicate part of their workday to promoting the integration of sports, health, and diversity in these spaces, thus contributing to aligning these aspects and making them accessible to everyone. ❤️🩹 Our goal is to advance towards a more inclusive and diverse society where sports and health drive positive change and promote equality for all. Sport Transparency Index is a Project funded by Erasmus+ Programm, lead by SIGA and with the overall objective creating the means to independently evaluate and benchmark sport stakeholders in relation to their transparency using universally applicable and appropriate criteria.   In its second year of implementation the 11 entities which are part of the consortium, gathered in Warsaw last Tuesday (July 16th) for its 4th partner meeting. The work and discusión during the meeting were focused on the conclusions of the pilot study (WP2) and the design of the training package (WP3). This work has been led by the FPN (Federação Portuguesa de Natação) and @ISG ( Institute for Sport Governance). Also the monitoring of the project was discussed in depth led by the @UCLM (Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha ) #Oneco #FondosEeuropeos #Erasmus

Polish women’s national team in front of the biggest attendance in history (nearly 8,5 thousand spectators in Gdańsk) has won their play-off match against Romania 4:1 and only Austria stands in their way to the first-time appearance in the international senior tournament - EURO 2025. Female football is on a massive rise in Poland with Under-17 NT reaching the quarterfinal in the World Cup and players in the biggest clubs in the world like Ewa Pajor in FC Barcelona or Nikola Karczewska in AC Milan. Playing in the European Championships can be the biggest incentive for Polish society to start following women’s football daily. Sadly Poland won’t host EURO 2025, but has declared interest to organize EURO 2029. Women’s football international tournaments contrary to men's, have become the perfect example of sustainability. Both EURO 2022 in England and the World Cup 2023 in Australia/New Zealand became a great marketing success and brought a massive fanbase to the sport. They also adhered to ESG principles, not only by promoting equality, but launching various initiatives like sustainable food packaging or adhering to ecological norms during the production of TV broadcasts. No wonder that next year’s EURO in Switzerland has a separate department focused solely on ESG strategy. All ticket holders will be able to use public transport for free in the whole country. Also the proper waste management mechanisms will be implemented. After the tournament all taken actions in the ESG area will be described in the special report. Some of them are already taking place, like supporting grassroots football. The effects of the whole tournament will be seen years after the final game in June 2025.
