European Facade Network reposted this
On the 6th November 2024, I had the pleasure of presenting at the “FASSADE 2024" conference, organised by the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture. In my talk, I discussed about the design of facade components that can enable circularity in the built environement and the key consideration for designers and systems manufacturers that can contribute to the circular transition, such as the material selection, performance requirement, and remanufacturing potential. The insights presented are part of the findings of our research with Magdalena Zabek on the AEGIR project, and Ruben van der Plas on the Toekomstbestendige leefomgeving project. During the conference, it was great to realise how the industry in shifting towards resourse efficient solutions. Many thanks to Andreas Luible for the invitation and organisation and to the speakers and audience for sharing their ideas and experiences. FASSADE2024 is part of the European Facade Network conference series. Looking forward to the next #EFN conference in June 2025, in Lisbon.
I really wish I could have had the time to make it to this conference. Next time for sure.
Thank you for sharing your project insights with us! It was a pleasure to listen
Pity I missed it! Had a clash! C u soon!

1moThe focus on designing facade components that enable circularity is crucial in transforming our built environment. Material selection, performance requirements, and remanufacturing potential are indeed key areas for making meaningful progress in the circular transition. Projects like #AEGIR help driving forward innovative research that will inspire designers and manufacturers alike. Thanks a lot Thaleia Konstantinou for sharing.
