CHALLENGES IN ITE/CPD ROUNDTABLE It was a pleasure to be invited by Universidad Rey Juan Carlos to participate in the roundtable that took place last month at INTEF. This was comprised by teacher educators and trainers from universities and ministries of education in Spain, Czech Republic, Portugal and Croatia as the brilliant Davor Černi. We could learn from each other and collaboratively develop an innovative teacher education & training programme focussing on digital professional engagement as defined by the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators. Finally, I would like to pose the next question: Do you believe that current teachers are prepared to properly develop digital competencies?"

Interoperability is a word that often makes people's eyes glaze over. Put simply - why can't you look for the best micro-credential to follow from any university in Europe? Why can't you find out what are the best courses and who are the best teachers? Why can't your qualifications be recognised across borders without jumping through hoops? Why can't we use the latest EdTech tools in classrooms instead of get caught in endless discussions on if tech is evil? These are a few of the problems which interoperability solves, by interconnecting themes seamlessly.
🌟 The European higher education interoperability framework came to be within the #DigitalEducationHub to create a more interconnected, efficient, and inclusive European higher education landscape. 🤝 The project seeks to improve interoperability by leveraging the collaboration within European University alliances and existing best practices. Excited for my upcoming #EAIE workshop with Dr. Melanie Agnew and Eveke De Louw! Consider joining us at the EAIE: European Association for International Education Annual Conference in #Toulouse for our workshop titled: Great minds think differently: A disciplinary approach to engage #academics in #curriculum #internationalisation ***Description*** Curriculum internationalisation (IoC), a complex academic process that is vital for campus-wide global engagement, relies heavily on academic staff. Engaging faculty beyond a few champions has been historically challenging. This is a well-known problem. Workshop participants will analyse academic disciplines, using 25 years of research-based practices, and create discipline-specific communication strategies to boost faculty involvement in internationalising the curriculum. ***Learning Outcomes*** This workshop will help you: - Gain a deep understanding of the unique disciplinary features in the four (hard/soft, pure/applied) categories, and understand how they each uniquely manifest in IoC - Analyse how these disciplinary features inform IoC communication strategies across each of the disciplinary categories - Develop discipline-specific communication strategies which can be used immediately ***Who is it for?*** This workshop is particularly relevant for internationalisation officers, educational developers, and academics who are involved in leading curriculum internationalisation. ***Register Here*** https://lnkd.in/dQGMPKZz #intled #ioc #iah #iocah #globallearning #globalhighered #profdev #internationalization #NAFSA24 #France #highered
