The results of the European elections are in: now is the time to establish the structures, with the most important election of the President of the EU Commission. The members of the EU Parliament will “take their seats” and the newcomers will first have an orientation phase in Strasbourg and Brussels. We expect to be able to work for the first time in the next three months. During this time, we will prepare our approaches for the European institutions for our industry, we expect regulations for the regulation of European deregulation as well as a simplification, standardization and acceleration of processes. Our aim is to ensure that the same regulations apply throughout the European Union so that the industry only has to deal with one set of regulations.

Although Belgium is holding the Presidency of the Council for the 13th time the European election is gaining the least traction 2️⃣ While holding the elections for the respective assemblies on the same day has a practical advantage, it reduces the capacity to identify which level of power is competent for which matter 3️⃣ A mega election campaign pushes political parties to prioritise where their money should be spent. As parties perceive marginal gain in the European elections they tend to naturally prioritise the federal & regional ballots 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 👉 bit.ly/3yDYUUx

With the European Parliament elections coming up this week, on 6-9 of June, the lead candidates chosen by the EU political groups to head the European Commission – spitzenkandidatens – are in the spotlight, as one of them is likely to become the next Commission President. In this context, Members of the CPMR Political Bureau want to extend their concerns on different topics, ranging from energy to Cohesion policy, innovation or regional specificities. In a series of videos, regional leaders from peripheral and maritime regions have asked short sharp questions to the Spitzenkandidat. Every five years, Europe agrees on the EU's political priorities for the future. The strategic agenda for 2024-2029 was adopted at the European Council meeting on 27 June 2024. It takes place in the context of the European Parliament elections and ahead of the appointment of each European Commission. One of the priorities is strengthening #waterresilience across the European Union. It should therefore lead to new initiatives, which shall be favourable to the deployment of #waterinnovations. Your mini recap of what’s been happening behind closed doors in #Europe ⤵️ As all eyes turned to France & other national issues post EU elections, things have been busy in Brussels 🔥 Négociations are in full swing to form alliances to re-elect Ursula von der Leyen (Will she choose the greens or the far right as fourth partner?) and assign roles within committees (absolutely crucial for how the future texts will be shaped). Meanwhile, the far right is settling well and becoming the third largest political force in the Parliament 🤦🏼♀️ The reason behind these videos is to try to make accessible some crucial decisions & processes that will affect all of our futures for the next 5 years. The lack of media coverage is appalling & the vast majority of people I speak to have NO IDEA what’s currently happening.

🗳Following the European elections, the European leaders and the European political groups are currently negotiating the top positions within the different EU institutions. 📢The EFBWW calls on the S&D and the other progressive forces to claim the next Commissioner for Internal Market. The Internal Market has an important impact on our working conditions and on our daily lives. With the rise of the far right and other populist forces, it is clear that we need a profound change in the direction of the Internal Market. 👷♂️We need an Internal Market based on social progress. As the dust settles following the outcome of the May 29 elections and the seventh administration begins its term, the next step will be realigning policy ideas under the Government of National Unity. With respect to agriculture, the major political parties in the Government of National Unity, namely the African National Congress (ANC), Democratic Alliance (DA), and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP), appear to be broadly aligned in our assessment. https://lnkd.in/dQbwJ2hX
