✅ PPWR Moves Forward 🎉 After much anticipation, the European Parliament has officially approved the corrigendum text for the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation! The decision arrived in Strasbourg during Tuesday’s plenary and after the adoption by the ENVI committee. The decision was accompanied by the publication of the text in all 24 official EU languages. 🚩 What’s Next? The final step is the Council’s approval, expected this December, which will pave the way for the text's publication in the EU Official Journal. From there: ◆ Jan-Feb 2025: Regulation enters into force. ◆ Mid-2026: Application begins after an 18-month transition period. As we celebrate this progress, New ERA is already gearing up for the next phase: implementation and secondary legislation. We are committed to supporting our members, policymakers, and stakeholders to ensure reuse is at the heart of the PPWR’s success. The PPWR is central to the EU’s ambition to reduce waste, enhance circular economy practices, and achieve a climate-neutral future.
