Funding Discrepancies in Gamete Donation Treatments 💰 Our recent survey shows that 79% of patients cite a lack of public funding or insufficient funding as a major barrier to safe and efficient gamete donation treatments. The harsh reality: • Few countries offer financial support • Unequal access to healthcare • Safety compromised at multiple levels • Patients forced to seek risky alternatives Adequate public funding of fertility treatments isn't just about money - it's about ensuring safety, equality, and dignity for those seeking to expand families, donors and donor-conceived people. We need change now! 🗣️ #EFW2024 #TheGameteStory #EuropeanFertilityWeek2024 #GameteDonation #MoneyMatters #HealthcareForAll #EqualAccess

The #WHO estimates almost 100 million people have been pushed into poverty due to overwhelming #healthcare costs. When individuals or families cannot afford necessary medical expenses, they are often forced to sell assets, take on debt, or cut back on essential needs like food and education. These costs have far-reaching impacts, affecting all aspects of their livelihoods. Last year, my incredible mother passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Throughout her illness, my family and I realised the immense challenges which come with chronic illness, but we felt fortunate that she was able to access healthcare throughout her cancer battle. This isn't the case for everyone. To honour my mother’s compassionate spirit, we launched SheHeals: Sonal Shah Remembrance Fund, to provide holistic, life-saving healthcare to low-income individuals. Thanks to generous support, we've already raised over CHF18,000 (≈€19,125, ≈$20,795) which have sponsored the following healthcare services for low-income individuals: ◆ Breast cancer treatments for 4 women with annual household incomes under CHF1100 ◆ Nutritional support for 30+ cancer patients ◆ Staffing for Sanjeevani: Life Beyond Cancer, serving 100+ cancer patients daily with holistic care ◆ Cataract surgeries, dialysis treatments, and community medical camps You can learn more about our impact at https://lnkd.in/g8_y486w Today, on the final day of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, I’d like to share our progress and invite you to join us on our mission. We’re aiming to raise an additional CHF4000 (≈€4250, ≈$4620) to further expand our impact by year-end. Please consider visiting our website to donate, learn more and share with your network. Thank you! #breastcancer #healthcare #mother #inequality #support #life

#DYK more than 100,000 people are waiting for a life-saving organ in the U.S., and more than 60% of them represent racial and ethnic minorities? The need for organ donation and transplant is particularly prominent in minority communities where disproportionately higher rates of diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease contribute to organ failure, especially kidney failure. As a part of our efforts to eliminate health disparities and advance equitable care, we encourage widespread donor registration to bridge the donation gap for multicultural communities. donatelife.net #MonogramHealth #CKD #ESKD #KidneyHealth #ValueBasedCare #EvidenceBasedCare #InHomeCare #PrimaryCare #SpecialtyCare #PolychronicCare #PolychronicConditions #Polychronic

Abortion bans contribute to physician shortages, impacting women's health beyond reproductive care. Women's healthcare is healthcare, and without comprehensive services like breast exams, primary care, and cancer screenings, we all suffer. At Iowans for Health Liberty, we’re raising funds to elect leaders who trust individuals to make personal health decisions with their physicians. Your support is crucial. https://lnkd.in/g4nk3rek #IA4HL #Iowans4HealthLiberty #HealthcareFreedom #ReproductiveRights #abortionishealthcare #abortionrights #WomensRights #Donate #JoinUs

Every mother wants to nourish her child. But millions are unable to💔 Let’s break the silence and build awareness together. Share your thoughts in the comments below and follow us to discover how we can all make a difference. 🌍 At The Hunger Project, we know that by investing in women, we can break the cycle of hunger and create a world where we all thrive. Across Africa, South Asia and Latin America we work with communities to provide: 1. Nutrition Education to women about the importance of proper nutrition, particularly during the first 1000 days of pregnancy and early motherhood. 2. Access to Nutritious Foods. Ensuring that women and children have access to various nutrient-dense foods. 3. Pre- and Postnatal Care. Encouraging regular pre- and postnatal check-ups. 4. Supplementation. Vitamin and mineral supplements to those who need it. 5. Encouraging and supporting breastfeeding. 6. Community Support and Empowerment. Where women feel empowered to make healthy choices. 7. Addressing Socioeconomic Factors. Such as poverty, food insecurity, and lack of access to healthcare and education. 8. Policy and Advocacy. That prioritise maternal and child nutrition The Hunger Project UK is participating in this year’s Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund, and your support could have twice the impact. From 10th - 17th October, any donation made through The Big Give platform will be matched, pound for pound, by them, up to £5,000. This means that your generosity will go twice as far in helping women and girls transform their lives and their communities. Find out more - https://lnkd.in/dtiGPAgm @big-give

Family limits are important. In 2022, I gave a presentation to gamete banks and fertility clinics on the benefits of family limits. You can read the speech at the link below. Family limits are essential to limit the number of families that use the same donor. But, a family limit cannot guarantee that a donor does not donate in the future at another bank or clinic. Each bank or clinic has its own way to track the number of children conceived using a donor's gametes. Banks and clinics vary in their family limit and their practices for adhering to the limit. Here are 5 questions to ask your bank or clinic to learn more about their family limit. xo Lori https://lnkd.in/emgSjXBG

In 1981, everything changed for people impacted by leprosy. 1981 is the year Multi-Drug Therapy (MDT), the inexpensive and effective cure for leprosy, was discovered. 🙌 MDT is a treatment of 3 antibiotics that are taken together, typically over the course of 12 months. It has given millions of people the opportunity to recover from leprosy, avoid further disability, return to work, and more. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to these life-changing medications, especially if they live in rural areas with limited access to healthcare. It is our mission to strengthen healthcare systems in these areas, along with our partners, so everyone can access effective treatment for leprosy. 💝 By donating, you can help us achieve this goal!
