🌍 Today, 22 April, is #EarthDay, an annual reminder to protect the natural world we depend on. 📣 The first Earth Day, which was held in the U.S. in 1970, mobilised 20 million people and is often seen as one of the most influential moments of the modern environmental movement, and helped lay the groundwork for environmental legislation across the world. 🔎 This year’s focus is on “Planet vs. Plastics”, and the impact of plastics on human health and on the planet’s ecosystems, biodiversity, and climate change. 📈 To ensure plastics manufacturing industries, which are among the highest carbon emitters due to their reliance on fossil fuels, transition towards more sustainable, net-zero practices, sustainable investment matters. 📌 According to the EU Commission, the EU alone currently has an investment gap of €660 billion (1.5% of the EU GDP) to achieve the EU’s 2040 climate targets. Private investments will have to form a significant part of this effort. 📌Eurosif - the European Sustainable Investment Forum and its members are at the forefront of promoting sustainable investments across Europe. We are committed to the growth and integrity of meaningful sustainable investment flows and support the ambition of European policymakers in enabling a fully transparent sustainable investment market through appropriate and well-designed regulation and industry practice. #NewInTheHood Today in White Stag Insights I discuss the latest numbers about sustainable fund flows. Although not at the level seen in 2021 and 2022, sustainable funds flows have remained resilient since the onset of the energy crisis. This means overall sustainable asset levels remain high. Especially in Europe where the region still commands most of the industry. #investing #sustainability https://lnkd.in/e7-ECX_q

In honor of Earth Day on April 22, here’s: 🌱💰 5 Tips for Integrating Environmental Sustainability into your Investment Portfolio: Define Your Goals: Goals guide your investment decisions and ensure your portfolio aligns with your values and long-term aspirations. Understand ESG Criteria: Environmental, Social, and Governance—are key in evaluating the sustainability and societal impact of investments. To prioritize the environment you can look for investments prioritizing sustainability, such as renewable energy, clean technology, and eco-friendly products. Diversify Your Portfolio: Build sustainability into your portfolio by diversifying across sectors like renewable energy, clean tech, and sustainable agriculture. Consider ESG-themed funds for broad exposure to sustainable investments. Do Your Research: Examine sustainability reports, impact assessments, and CSR disclosures. You can also consult a financial advisor to help align your investments with your values and goals. Consider Investment Time Horizons: Sustainable investments often require long-term horizons as ESG initiatives may take time to show returns.
