Team eutecma at the Mannheim company run 2024 🏃♀️ 🏃♂️ Yesterday, our running enthusiasts represented eutecma at the Bauhaus company run in Mannheim. We ran 5.2 km around Mannheim Castle - some a little faster, others a little more leisurely, but all of us had a lot of fun! 😃 Good weather, a great atmosphere and a well-deserved cold drink after the run - what more could you want? Even though our legs feel a bit heavy today, we had a great time and will surely be back next year! #team #corporaterun #mannheim

The 2nd edition of the Run Gabz Marathon held on August 17th graced the Gaborone streets and I was there. There are five important stages leading to a marathon: 1. Payment,💵 2. Registration, 📙 3.Confirmation of registration and payment ✅, 4.Race number collection 🔢 and 5.Marathon pack collection 🛄 I observed and picked 3 systematic problems, which I experienced myself: 1.Names in the system without corresponding race packs, 2.Names appear in the system with no race numbers, 3.Registration and payment confirmed but not being reflected in the system. If I were an engaged Consultant ,I would have anticipated these technicalities. If I were engaged as a Consultant I would suggest the following solutions for the systematic problems: 1. Payment and Registration: Implement a real-time integration system to ensure that once a payment is processed, registration details are automatically updated across all relevant systems. Volunteers should regularly check for synchronization issues and promptly address discrepancies with participants. 2. Confirmation of Registration and Payment:Establish automated confirmation emails or SMS notifications that include registration and payment details. Volunteers should follow up with attendees who report missing confirmations to ensure timely resolution. 3. Race Number and Pack Collection: Use a robust database management system to track the issuance of race numbers and packs. Volunteers should be stationed at collection points with mobile devices to quickly rectify any mismatches and provide immediate assistance. Incorporating Lean Six Sigma principles can significantly enhance the system by streamlining processes and eliminating inefficiencies. This approach focuses on reducing waste, improving accuracy, and enhancing overall system performance. Continuous improvement should be a key focus, with feedback loops in place to address issues proactively. Organizers should allocate ample time to master each stage of the process. Rushing through these critical phases can lead to errors and inefficiencies, emphasizing the importance of thorough preparation and execution. As a second-time attendee, I commend the organizers for their innovative approach and dedication to refining the marathon experience. Their commitment to improvement is evident and appreciated.I look forward to edition 3 and such improvements. #ChangeMaker #marathon #MsNobleFields #AreChencheng #PersonalDevelopment #LeanSixSigma

As we’ve always said, after every race, we make it a point to sit down and listen. The feedback we receive from our runners is invaluable—it's not just about how they performed, that has pretty much never formed part of any race report (how crazy is that for a race organiser!?!), but how Impact Marathon has touched their lives on every level. We dive deep into understanding what has changed for them, what they’ve experienced, and how they've been transformed. One story that truly stands out is that of Dionisio. A Guatemalan runner from our race back in 2021, Dionisio’s journey has to be heard. His story is a powerful testament to the impact we strive to create. It starts with one person, but the ripple effect reaches far beyond that—touching communities and the country. Dionisio’s experience highlights the essence of what Impact Marathon is all about: creating positive change that spreads, one person at a time. It’s a reminder that the true impact of our races isn’t just measured in miles run, but in lives transformed. Through our Impact Runner Development Fund, we support Dionisio with entry, transport, accommodation, and some Impact race kit - he went out and crushed the route yet he didn’t forget to treasure every step along the way. We are incredibly proud of the stories like Dionisio’s that emerge from our races. These are the stories that fuel our passion and commitment to continue making a difference. The IRDF is a project we are proud of, and we will share some more stories, but it is also something we want to grow - we welcome your input, your ideas to do this…let us know in the comments if you want to find out more, and have ideas on how to support our dream to grow accessibility to trail running. #ImpactMarathon #RippleEffect #CommunityChange #RunningForGood #powerofrunning #mostpowefulraces

New Post: Dusi drops reverse order day three start - https://lnkd.in/dWbTShq2 Pietermaritzburg - Ahead of the 2023 Dusi Canoe Marathon organisers have taken the decision to drop the reverse order start that they have implemented for a number of years. This change will see the elapsed time paddlers at the front of the race head off first as opposed to the B Batch which would traditionally leave Inanda Dam early on final morning of the race. On Day three, the elapsed time paddlers, both men and women, will start at 07:00. K1 men within 60 minutes of the leading man and K1 women within 60 minutes of the leading woman to start concurrently. They will then be followed by A Batch, which will include K1’s only, at 08:05. The balance of the batches will follow at 5 minute intervals. "We had long and robutst discussions on the reverse order start ahead of the 2023 Dusi so it wasn't a decision we took lightly," Dusi organising committee chairman Steve Botha said. "The reverse order start gave those that have finished the chance to follow the race during the live streaming and live coverage, however with no live coverage we took the decision to change it back. "The reverse order start has been a heated debate since inception. Whilst extremely successful in its implementation, it created its own unique challenges, for paddlers, seconders and the event safety team. "We felt that it has to be changed in order to mitigate the logistical challenges that we face."

Balance, impulsion, self-carriage, straightness, contact—terminology we equestrians use almost every day. But do we truly understand what these terms mean, not just to ourselves but to others? Are we confident that we’re all on the same page? Language is as powerful in equestrian sports as it is anywhere else, making clear and unambiguous terminology critical. 👓 At yesterday's clinic “Vad tittar vi på?” organized by HorseTec of Sweden at SRG Bökeberg, Svedala, Peter Reuter, Hans van Tartwijk and I demonstrated how to use eyetracking technology to bridge the gap between what we say we see and what we truly see. 💡 This innovative approach allows us to measure what trainers, coaches, and judges focus on when assessing a horse, making the invisible aspects of judging visible - and discussable. 🔎 The clinic was not just about exploring the practical application of eyetracking in horse sports; it was a deep dive into how technology can help create a more sustainable, fair, and objective environment for our horses – and how it might help revolutionize equestrian training and judging. Thank you so much to Cindy Ahrnewald, Malin Andersson and Henrik Landin, for organising this amazing event, to the sponsors Sveriges Ridgymnasium AB, Swedish Warmblood Association, Hippocrates.se, Tobii and Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences for their incredible support. A huge thanks, of course, to the incredible trainers Mikael Nolin and Peter Markne, the riders Linda Heed, Denise Ljungkvist, Alma Holmqvist and Elvira Turesson, and of course all the delegates for engaging with us and exchanging thoughts and ideas for a sustainable future. 🐎💚 #Equestrian #SustainableEquestrianism #Eyetracking #HorseTraining #EquineScience #InnovativeTechnology #EquestrianEducation

As a CTO, I've seen firsthand how TYNARACE automated timing technology elevates the standard of endurance events. Beyond just accurate race results, it provides an end-to-end solution that enhances the participant experience, supports real-time tracking for safety, and enables efficient, data-driven decisions for event organizers. Investing in automated timing not only adds value for runners and spectators but also builds a strong foundation of credibility and reliability for any race. Great to see this technology shaping the future of endurance sports!
