The state has shown strong commitment to electric mobility with strategic initiatives and policies, including the introduction of an EV policy in 2017 and enhanced incentives in 2021. The charging stations have been funded through various initiatives like the FAME scheme, BESCOM investments, green cess funds, and public-private partnerships. The state budget for 2024 proposes the establishment of nearly 2,500 new EV charging stations across the state through a public-private partnership model, with an additional investment of Rs 35 crore for 100 charging centres in collaboration with power supply companies. Maharashtra is second with 3,728 stations, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Key Objectives and Targets: - Global EV Hub: The policy seeks to position Andhra Pradesh as a global hub for high-value EV manufacturing. - Sustainable E-Mobility: It aims to promote sustainable e-mobility practices across the state. - Carbon Neutrality: A significant target is to achieve carbon neutrality in the transport sector by 2047. Vehicle Registration Targets: - 2 lakh new e2-wheelers - 10,000 new 3-wheelers - 20,000 new 4-wheelers BEVs Public Transport Electrification: 100% electrification of the APSRTC fleet.
