This week we are breaking down the Top 5 Myths of AI for Legal. (Myth 1 of 5) AI Will Replace Attorneys & Paralegals AI isn’t here to replace, it’s here to change. The best AI tools don’t automate, they augment routine and repetitive tasks, such as document review, case intake, and discovery, which can be time-consuming and tedious. “Human-in-the-loop” will continue to be crucial for AI in legal. We’ll say it again: AI won’t replace attorneys, but attorneys that use AI will replace those who don’t.

Today, many believe that AI will replace lawyers. In my humble opinion, AI won’t replace lawyers – it will replace slow, inefficient lawyers. The legal profession has never been kind to those who linger in complacency. Our greatest asset as lawyers has never been our ability to memorize statutes or regurgitate precedent. It’s our ability to think critically, navigate complexity, and act decisively. AI will not replace adaptability, intuition, or strategic foresight – it’s a tool, not a threat. But for the lawyer who’s slow to adapt, inflexible in their thinking, and unwilling to evolve, AI is a mirror exposing every flaw they’ve neglected to address.
