The Baltic States will be connected to Western Europe and the rest of the world through this massive project. There will be significant advantages for people, businesses, and most importantly- nature, since there will be less traffic on the roads.
🚄 #RailBaltica: Transforming Lithuania’s Transport, Economy, and Security 🚄 The European Rail Baltica railway is set to connect the Baltic countries by the end of 2030, integrating them into the European transport system and positioning Lithuania as a key logistics center for the region. 🌍 Future Developments: • Efficient Connections: Facilitating cross-border movement of people and goods, promoting economic integration. Easier and faster journeys to Lithuania will attract more tourists, benefiting businesses and the hospitality industry. • Enhanced Mobility: For residents, faster mobility means opportunities to work or study in any city in the Baltic States or Poland. For businesses, it will allow to attract talents from a wider geographical area, boosting competitiveness. 💼 • Sustainable Freight Transport: “It is estimated that one intermodal move takes 36 trucks off the road. Connecting the Baltic countries to the European TEN-T network will allow logistics companies to transport freight faster and more efficiently, reach new markets, and expand their operations,” said LTG Group CEO Egidijus Lazauskas. • Security Enhancement: The Baltic States form NATO’s eastern flank, making the effective movement of troops vital to deter potential aggressors and respond in times of crisis. 🛡️ Read more: https://lnkd.in/dkW59Nc9 #Infrastructure #EconomicGrowth #Sustainability #Mobility #Logistics #Security

🚢 FuelEU Maritime Implementation Delayed in Norway and Iceland The FuelEU Maritime regulation, aimed at decarbonizing shipping fuels, takes effect on 1 January 2025. However, its implementation in Norway and Iceland is delayed due to pending incorporation into the EEA Agreement. Key Impacts: ✅ Norwegian and Icelandic ports will temporarily be treated as non-EU/EEA ports under FuelEU regulations. ✅ For EU-ETS, these ports will still be treated as EU/EEA ports. ✅ Monitoring plans for FuelEU are recommended to avoid compliance delays. Stay informed and prepared for the upcoming changes to ensure smooth operations. #FuelEU #MaritimeDecarbonization #Sustainability

The Danish and Swedish transportation committees recently met to discuss challenges and opportunities for cross-border transport cooperation. Thomas Becker, Managing Director at STRING, emphasized the critical role of well-functioning and sustainable cross-border transportation in driving regional connectivity and growth. 🤝 Thanks a lot to the Embassy of Sweden in Denmark for hosting an informative and succesful working dinner. Improving cross-border infrastructure between #Oslo and #Hamburg is essential, with Øresund as a key link in this corridor. In just five years, the Fehmarn Belt Tunnel will open, significantly increasing traffic flow towards Scandinavia. We must ensure green transport solutions are in place to meet this demand and support a sustainable future - and cross-border cooperation is the solution for getting there! ♻ Oslo-Göteborg SJ AB Greater Copenhagen The Danish Parliament - Folketinget Sveriges riksdag

Yantian International and Port of Los Angeles Sign MOU to Foster High-Level Green Marine Economy Development On May 29, local time, Yantian International, the Port of Los Angeles, the Shenzhen Economic and Trade Office in North America, and the Shenzhen Port Group officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in San Francisco, USA. This MOU marks a new beginning for the sustainable development of both ports. Following the signing of a friendly exchange and cooperation MOU between the Shenzhen Municipal Government and the San Francisco City Government on May 28, Yantian Port and the Port of Los Angeles swiftly signed their cooperation MOU. The MOU provides a communication mechanism for exchanging opinions, sharing knowledge and experience, and planning joint actions. It aims to support and coordinate technical exchanges and project cooperation in areas such as clean energy, zero-carbon and low-carbon environmental protection, and green infrastructure construction. Additionally, it seeks to enhance operational efficiency and optimize the maritime supply chain through digitalization, thus promoting high-level green marine economy development. Both the Port of Los Angeles and Yantian Port are crucial gateways in the global trade chain, with broad prospects for cooperation in the green port sector. This signing represents a new chapter in green cooperation between the two ports. The Port of Los Angeles is the largest in the United States and the 16th largest container port globally, serving as a primary gateway for international trade in North America. Yantian International boasts the most intensive Europe and America routes in South China, with seven weekly sailings on the "Yantian Port – Port of Los Angeles" route, creating an efficient and fast maritime logistics channel between the two regions. As the last port of call for most routes departing China, it ensures the fastest delivery of goods to their destination port (12.5 days to the USA). Moreover, Yantian Port is the fourth in the world and the first in South China to offer LNG bunkering services. Yantian International, a three-time winner of the "Global Best Green Container Terminal" award, has been a pioneer in carbon reduction and pollution control, actively responding to various national environmental policies. It has continuously collaborated with sister ports, shipping companies, and cargo owner partners to reduce emissions and seize development opportunities. #GreenEconomy #SustainableDevelopment #CleanEnergy #MaritimeSupplyChain #Digitalization #GlobalTrade #LNG #PortofLosAngeles #YantianInternational #GreenPorts
