Overwatch Classic! The sudden popularity of Classic game releases, whether it’s Overwatch Classic, Fortnite OG, or Apex Legends’ Launch Royale is not simply a nod to nostalgia. It’s a reminder of our craving for simplicity, familiarity, and a return to what once felt new and unburdened by constant updates and expansions. In a time when games (and, let’s face it, life) feel like they’re changing at breakneck speed, these classics offer us a chance to pause and reconnect with the original magic that first drew us in. There’s something deeply human about looking back. As Kierkegaard once said, “Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.” These throwback versions don’t just bring back certain maps or characters; they bring back the feelings we had the first time we played. For longtime players, revisiting these old-school versions isn’t just about the gameplay, it’s about reliving the thrill of discovery, the simplicity of early metas, and the camaraderie of that “golden age” when the game was fresh and every match felt like a new adventure. These classics give both seasoned players and newcomers a shared experience, a common ground. They’re a reminder that while gaming technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, the heart of gaming: fun, connection and excitement remains the same. It’s why, even as games become more complex and immersive, we still find comfort and joy in the basics. In the end, this wave of Classic releases shows us something meaningful: that no matter how much we crave the next big update or feature, there’s an undeniable power in remembering where it all started. It’s not just about looking back; it’s about finding a piece of ourselves there and carrying it forward.
Overwatch: Classic is coming! Are you with us? ✨ Revisit iconic maps, enjoy the original hero roster, and embrace the chaotic fun of 6v6 for a limited-time starting Nov 12 🗺️ Learn more: https://blizz.ly/4esa5PA

This is a big deal. I've come across very few open source projects which ship weekly releases (though they do exist). Ironically, while it takes a lot of work to get to a constantly releasable state, it's less work to maintain. Previously, we were following a six-week release cycle. Every release was painful. Flaky tests would accumulate, especially on less commonly used platforms. To get there, the team - Fixed over 350 issues and flaky tests - Improved testing infrastructure, especially around performance regressions - Most importantly, built the discipline around consistency. Overall we're catching regressions faster and shipping features faster.
We recently moved to weekly Ray releases to ship features to our community faster. 🚀 Doing so required us to fix flaky tests and completely revamp our release process. 👊 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gUejngmD

⚡️ Today we are launching a new "Live Results" view: - near-realtime streaming of step-level progress from CI machines (10-15 seconds delay) - browsing individual step details - including timing, stdout, stderr and error details - lifecycle timing and breakdown - visualize test lifecycle stages like before all, before each, test body, after each, after all and identify performance bottlenecks - lightweight alternative to Playwright traces - even if machine crashes or trace generation / upload isn't successful, you can still explore the step-level details reported to Currents https://lnkd.in/drFMkhi3 #changelog #e2e #testautomation #playwrightweb
