Today is the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, a day when we honour all of the Survivors and the children who did not make it back home. Many of those children who were ripped away from their homes and families are still struggling today. Many are experiencing poverty and homelessness. Today is an important day to recognize the ongoing impacts of colonialism and the harms that it has inflicted upon our families and communities. Providing access to safe and culturally appropriate housing is essential in repairing the harms of colonialism and ensuring that children remain at home in their communities. While today is an important day to acknowledge and commemorate, we recognize that our work towards reconciliation is not simply a one day event, but instead, work that we must continually engage in to ensure that we create a better future for our children and grandchildren.

Our mission is to transform the lives of children trapped in poverty through Christ-centered, holistic care. But what exactly does the word “transform” mean? It means comprehensive flourishing that happens through layers of change in a child's life. The inner layer, spiritual change, refers to the hope found only in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the new creation a child becomes when he/she surrenders his/her life to Him (2 Cor. 5:17). The next layer of change is physical. When children receive the nutritious meals, safe drinking water, and health care they need to thrive physically, they can reach their full, God-given potential. The third layer of change is one of opportunities. Access to quality education, vocational training, life skills coaching, and spiritual discipleship can equip and empower children to build brighter futures and walk in the purpose God has for their lives. Thanks to God’s leadership and your faithfulness, together we are able to transform the lives of children living in poverty! 2023 Stats: Communities Served-58 Received Medical Care-2,416 Lives Impacted-9,597 total (4,908 children) Hours of Education and Tutoring-649,752 Received Abstinence Training-1,531

Business leaders, politicians, & media stars are afraid to talk about 1 thing. And that 1 thing can solve the vast majority of our problems. Fatherlessness. Our leaders all want to pretend that it isn’t the biggest problem facing the United States and frankly, the entire world. But it isn’t politically correct to mention. 25% of American children don’t live with a father in the home. That’s nearly 18 million boys and girls. When a child is raised in a fatherless home, she is more likely to: ▪️Live in poverty ▪️End up in jail ▪️Become pregnant as a teen ▪️Drop out of school That’s why CATHOLIC WORLD MISSION INC is developing programs with The Lumen Institute to address this tragedy head on. We are working to build stronger fathers and stronger families by looking to the example of St Joseph. Be sure to check on CatholicWorldMission.org in the upcoming weeks on this program and learn how to help. Because it takes guts to address the real issue. It takes guts to stand up for kids.

🌟Reminder: Let Children Dream again, not be caught between two wars‼️ #Children are meant to dream, to laugh, to learn—to be free. Yet, too often, their innocence is shattered as they are caught between two wars, held hostage by conflicts they never chose and can’t understand. It’s heartbreaking to see children trapped in a cycle of violence, used as bargaining chips or as tools for political gain. Political campaigns use the trauma of vulnerable children to gain support. This often means that these children—especially those who are vulnerable or at risk—are seen as silent victims. Their stories are shared not to help them, but to serve a political agenda, taking away their voice and worsening their situation. These young souls need safety, love, and a chance to heal. They need homes, not headlines; protection, not exploitation. They deserve schools, not shelters; peace, not fear. Every child has the right to a future defined by hope—not war. We must defend their innocence with urgency and compassion. No child should ever be held hostage between two wars. 🚨Stand up. Speak out. Protect them. Let them dream again!
