🔍 Don’t Miss Our Workshop on Strategic Collaboration for Community Health! Join us on January 14-15, 2025 (virtual) or February 25-26, 2025 (in-person in Denver) for a hands-on workshop designed to enhance your collaborative practices. Equip yourself with actionable strategies to drive meaningful change. 👉 Register now to secure your spot! Space is limited to ensure meaningful connection and engagement. 🔗 https://bit.ly/4fnIbW1 What’s the story behind this workshop? In 2012, while working at the Spokane Regional Health District, Stephanie Bultema, PhD, witnessed first-hand the challenges of coordinating diverse stakeholders to achieve a shared goal. After five years of navigating these complexities across various collaboratives, it became clear that there was a significant gap in evidence-based strategies to tackle the unique obstacles faced by cross-boundary initiatives. Determined to fill this gap, she returned to school at the University of Colorado Denver School of Public Affairs and spent six years researching ways to improve population health through effective collaboration. The result? The Strategic Collaboration Workshop — a transformative training grounded in Dr. Bultema's doctoral research and the PHIL’s Aligning Systems for Health (AS4H) research, funded by the Georgia Health Policy Center and the RWJF. This workshop synthesizes the most impactful lessons learned from years of research and practical experience, providing participants with a clear framework for navigating complex, multi-stakeholder collaborations in health and beyond. This workshop is designed for anyone who is part of, or leading, a collaboration aimed at improving health or driving systemic change. 🔑 Why attend? - Gain evidence-based tools for effective collaboration - Learn from over 6 years of dedicated research and practical application - Understand the dynamics of cross-boundary collaboration through the lens of public health - Network and problem-solve with peers working on similar issues Still have questions? Attend our workshop information session tomorrow, November 14, from 1:00-1:30 pm PT / 4:00-4:30 pm ET. 🔗 Register here: https://bit.ly/3CDhyhe Ready to transform your approach to collaboration? Don't Hide Your Light: The World Needs Your Unique Gifts As a boutique healthcare recruiting firm specializing in community health, we've learned an important lesson: When you have a gift that can make a difference, you have a responsibility to share it. Too often, talented professionals hold back, thinking, "I'm not for everyone." And that's true—we can't be all things to all people. But your contributions are essential for the organizations and patients YOU are uniquely equipped to serve. They need your specific skills, experience, and passion to realize their mission and achieve better health outcomes. At CB3 Connections, our gift is connecting mission-driven community health organizations with visionary leaders who will take them to the next level. We know we're not the right fit for every healthcare entity. But for those dedicated to the underserved, our ability to find top talent for them is game-changing. So, we show up daily and are committed to leveraging our strengths for those who need us most. We stay focused on the healthcare segment where we can have the most significant impact. We don't apologize for having a passion for supporting the underserved and maximizing our effectiveness. Whatever your gift is, embrace it and cultivate it. Most importantly, you must have the courage to share it with those you are called to serve. They're waiting for you to step up and step out. Your light is meant to shine. #EmbraceYourGifts #ImpactOverEgo #ServantLeadership #HealthcareRecruiting #CommunityHealth

Learn how organizations can engage members of the communities they serve to build trust, advance health equity, and improve care outcomes in a new report from INSPIRE. It’s a roadmap for how organizations can go beyond inviting the community to the table toward learning how to build the table from the ground up together. "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together." This proverb came to life during our recent strategic planning retreat with Illinois Community Health Workers Association (ILCHWA). What happens when you bring together community health workers from across Illinois, each passionate about health equity, each with unique perspectives on the future of their profession? Magic. But magic needs method: • Bilingual facilitation ensuring every voice was heard • Virtual collaboration breaking down geographic barriers • Interactive exercises turning big visions into actionable plans • Real-time translation making inclusion more than just a buzzword Watching these dedicated professionals map out the future of community health work in Illinois is why we do what we do: It's about community impact. It's about health equity. It's about transforming systems. To the incredible ILCHWA team - thank you for trusting us with this important work. Your dedication to creating healthier, more equitable communities across Illinois is truly inspiring. Here's a video of the retreat that we hosted in June 2024

ICYMI: Open invitation to Colorado organizations - 1) find your location using this link, register, and join us, and 2) forward to your respective partners and invite them to join us! Risa Hayes and I are pleased to be bringing (no cost) Colorado Community Capacity Building workshops to you, starting this week! Through the progressive CO Hospital Transformation Program (HTP), CO hospitals are engaging with their wider communities for Community Health Neighborhood Engagement (CHNE). When we all wrap our arms around the hospitals for the health of our respective local family, friends, and neighbors, we are BEST TOGETHER! Why these workshops? To bring as many local community partners together to connect and strategize – even to better understand what services and/or resources each partner can offer that are not well known. We will be facilitating collaborative, strategic brainstorming activities between hospitals, community-based organizations, health alliances, coalitions, regional health connectors, social needs services, and other partners in your community to explore opportunities and approaches to collectively address challenges facing the health of our communities, share best practices, and build community capacity. While the tools and practices we’ll use are an important part of the workshop, the real benefit is in using these tools in collaboration with your partners. NOTE to hospitals: Due to the interactive nature of these workshops that are designed to bring hospital teams and community partners together, participating HTP hospitals can count this workshop as a Community Advisory Meeting for the purposes of Community and Health Neighborhood Engagement (CHNE) reporting for PY3Q3 (April-June 2024). Matt Haynes MPP, MA Kami Tam Sing, MPM, PMP, CPIS We look forward to seeing you there!

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? 𝟒𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐝𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭? Health for All means hearing from All. Building on yesterday's celebration ( check out link below👇👇 ), I am grateful for the Academy of Public Health's DEAL Fellowship and I'm eager to apply the lessons learned. Today I will share 1 of the key takeaways : Without equity, health projects won’t make a lasting impact. If we’re serious about making a difference in health, we can’t overlook equity. But what does equity in health mean? It simply means everyone, especially those who need it most, has access to the benefits of health projects. Here’s what really stood out for me: 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥: For health projects to truly help communities, equity is essential. When we aim to be fair, we create programs that can outlive us and keep helping people long after we’re gone. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: True equity doesn’t happen without active community participation. We can’t just design projects and hope they work. We need the community’s input and involvement, because they know best what will help them. ᴇQᴜɪᴛʏ ɪꜱ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴍᴀᴋᴇꜱ ʜᴇᴀʟᴛʜ ᴘʀᴏᴊᴇᴄᴛꜱ ʟᴀꜱᴛ ᴀɴᴅ ᴋᴇᴇᴘꜱ ᴛʜᴇᴍ ᴍᴇᴀɴɪɴɢꜰᴜʟ. Equity and community participation are two sides of the same coin. Without them, we’re only building for today, not tomorrow. How do you ensure equity in your work? I’d love to hear your thoughts on the comment section. #Equity #Communityparticipation #Publichealth

Leading a Needs Assessment with UNV: A Public Health Thrill Ride! For public health enthusiasts, there's nothing quite like diving deep into the heart of a community's health needs. That's exactly what I experienced leading a needs assessment proposal during my time with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program. Going beyond the surface, we meticulously collected data – surveys, interviews, focus groups – to understand the intricate challenges and aspirations of the community. But this wasn't just about identifying problems. We were determined to co-create solutions with the community itself. Collaboration was key. Fostering meaningful dialogue, building trust, and empowering local stakeholders became our guiding principles. We weren't just there to assess; we were there to empower. Of course, late nights fueled by caffeine 😅 were par for the course as we navigated complex data, strategized, and refined our proposal. But every hurdle was met with resilience, knowing the impact could be life-changing. Now, as the proposal nears completion, anticipation thrums through me. The possibility of tangible improvements in communities worldwide is both humbling and invigorating. So, to my fellow public health warriors, let's keep pushing boundaries! Together, through collaboration, community engagement, and collective action, we can pave the way for a healthier, more equitable future 😊 . Here's to the power of #UNV in shaping a better world! #PublicHealth #CommunityEngagement #GlobalImpact #PositiveChange #StayTuned
