The ROLEX Oyster Cosmograph Ref. 6263/0 and 6265/0 with the Oyster bracelet "78350," were sold for 1,600 Deutsche Mark (DM) (818 EUR), taxes included. This information is sourced from an official Rolex price list dating back to 1979, presenting both prices in DM exclusive of taxes paid by the authorized dealer ("Ihr Einkaufspreis ohne MWST") and the official retail prices, taxes included ("Unverbindliche Preisempfehlung in DM incl. MWST"). In its full 18-carat yellow gold iteration (Ref. 6265/8 + full 18-carat yellow gold Oyster bracelet "7205/8"), the Rolex Oyster Cosmograph was priced at 8,625 DM (4,410 EUR). The authorized dealer acquired the watch for 4,620 DM (2,362 EUR). Given the historical context, these prices highlight how much Rolex watches have appreciated over time. With inflation and a growing trend of investing in luxury items, vintage Rolexes are now highly sought-after by collectors and investors. This increase in value isn't just about the quality of Rolex craftsmanship or its prestigious brand name; it's also about how people are increasingly turning to tangible assets, like watches, as a way to store and grow their wealth. 🇨🇭Let us know your thoughts on the sustainability of prices in the luxury watch industry below. #Rolex #watchadvisor #wherewatchesarethestars #watchreviews #watchcollector #watchindustry #luxurywatch #innovation #watchmaking #watch #watchesandwonders #inflation

Despite a sluggish pre-owned market, recent auctions in Geneva defied expectations, with over $100 million in sales. Phillips, Sotheby’s, and Christie’s set multiple world records for watch brands like ROLEX, Patek Philippe, and F.P.Journe - Invenit et Fecit . The success of these auctions highlights a shift toward rare, museum-quality pieces over more mainstream options. According to Aurel Bacs, Phillips’ Worldwide Watch Boss, "In good times or tough times, no matter the industry, the best will always fly." With the market favoring exclusivity, what does this mean for the future of luxury watch auctions? Will rare, independent pieces continue to thrive while mainstream models stagnate? #robbreport #luxury #watches #timepiece #horology

Investing in a Rolex isn't merely a purchase; it's a strategic move. Rolex watches are renowned for their investment value, with specific models appreciating in worth over time. The craftsmanship, limited production, and enduring demand contribute to their allure, making them a solid financial asset. Unlike fleeting trends, a Rolex stands the test of time, retaining its value and allure for future generations. When considering how much Rolex watches cost, you must recognise the worth of what you're getting. While prices vary depending on the model and specifications, they reflect not only the materials and craftsmanship but also the brand's unrivalled reputation. Entry-level models like the Oyster Perpetual start at around £5,000 to £7,000, while iconic pieces like the Daytona or Submariner can fetch prices ranging from £10,000 to well over £100,000 for special editions or vintage pieces.
