EVgo recently passed a milestone of more than 1,500 fast charging stalls in California, doubling our footprint in the state since the end of 2020. State programs like the California Air Resources Board Low Carbon Fuel Standard and the California Energy Commission Clean Transportation Program have been critical to this success. Check out these recently opened stations across the state and follow us for more station opening announcements!

We love to see this clean Xeal install located in Arlington, Texas.
Installing EV Charging Stations will attract new residents and keep your existing Electric Drivers happy.
Bonus points for a step towards a greener future!
Why does Steven Bartlett think we're 'investable'? 💭
👉 Our through-pavement EV cable channel is simple to install, and even simpler to use. Drivers feed the cable into the channel, plug in and start charging!
👉 Our channels mould to the shape of the pavement, so even on wonky footpaths, it always runs flush to the surface, eliminating trip hazards.
👉 Drivers without off-street parking have access to 5-10x cheaper charging costs at home, granting savings of over £1100 a year.

📣 I'm so excited that the San José City Council approved this week what is likely the nation's strongest electric vehicle (EV) building code for a large city!
Beginning on July 1, ALL residential parking spaces in new apartments and condos will include an EV charging receptacle! ⚡ This will greatly encourage residents to switch from gas-powered cars to EVs since the biggest barrier to EV adoption is the lack of home charging.
In addition, the new code requires that, in all assigned parking spaces, the EV receptacle be wired—not to the common meter—but to the dwelling unit's electrical panel. This enables the resident to bypass unregulated third-party markups to access regulated and discounted rates for charging from our community energy provider, San José Clean Energy.
Thanks to our champion, Councilmember David Cohen, staff were directed to report back in April on the feasibility of extending the direct-wiring requirement to unbundled parking (parking that is paid for on a separate lease).
This huge advance in EV charging access would not have been possible without the persistent and effective advocacy of Mothers Out Front Silicon Valley, the EV Charging for All Coalition, Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action, Acterra, and our other allies. Over 400 residents spoke up for EV equity by signing our petition, writing a postcard, sending in a written comment, or giving a public comment at the January 30th City Council meeting. 👏
Together, we will continue the fight to ensure that apartment and condo residents not only get access to charging, but also are protected from price gouging by third parties.

Promoter and Designer of State-of-the-Art Transportation Systems that Maximize Passenger Throughput while Stimulating Economies and Preserving the Environment
This is a tale of two state Departments of Transportation (DOT) - California DOT (Caltrans) and Nevada DOT (NDOT). The metrics that matter are high Pavement Condition Indices (PCI) and the efficient use of taxpayer dollars. Caltrans is among the largest recipient of funds yet has the lowest PCI in the nation. NDOT has nowhere near the taxation of California. NDOT ranks 47th among the 50 states in per capita transportation spending. Its PCI is the second best in the nation behind Florida. Why the disconnect in California. My theory is that Nevada DOT works dignity at keeping its PCI above 80 which is well above the 68 "tipping point". California has had decades of infrastructure neglect to the point that many of its roads quickly degraded below the 68 "tipping point", thereby escalating the cost of repairs and in some cases completely rebuilding failed roads. Also sound traffic engineering is often pushed aside for inflated egos. Traffic is a Title Act in California whereas Civil is a Practice Act. This has led to "turf wars" at Caltrans, so much so that while Caltrans "bickers" internally, other state DOT's invest in the latest technology and build state of the art transportation systems. Great article on the impacts of driving and traffic, and why communities should avoid expanding highways! Follow Eagle Valley Transportation Authority for more insights 🚍
EVTA is entering our community at a pivotal time and we could not me more excited to bring outrageously beneficial public (and FREE) bus system to eagle county! 'The state has made it harder to widen highways, and transportation officials are turning their eyes to transit.'
What I find the most interesting is that the City of San Diego went through the RFP process about 1.5 years ago for this deal. Myself, many of you on my Linkedin feed, as well as some of the most savvy and sophisticated EV CPO's (Volta, EA, XCharge, EVCS) and some that are even HEADQUARTERED here in SD (EVGo, Nuuve) did not win inexplicably despite extremely robust RFP submittals I had personally seen.
What would prompt the City to select an unknown consulting company to build and maintain 400 properties worth of critical infrastructure?
What do you think?
