It is a genuine honour to be invited by Professor Paul Haskell-Dowland from Edith Cowan University to participate as a speaker on the panel he is hosting at the International Telecommunication Union's WSIS+20 event next week (see below). I look forward to sharing some of the 'Lessons Learned' from the last 18 months of private industry in Australia collaborating to successfully grow trust and share CTI through membership of CI-ISAC Australia - the world's first fully integrated cross-sector ISAC to defend critical infrastructure. As a not-for-profit, non-government organisation, CI-ISAC Australia is giving away for free its knowledge & resources to help other countries that need support to establish their own sovereign, cross-sector ISAC given this new, now proven model represents the most financially sustainable, and analytically effective way to protect any country's critical infrastructure from cyber threats. It's cliche' but true, cyber threats are global. It's my professional view that the best hope the world has to counter cyber threats is by supporting CTI capability development within each sovereign country, so that countries can then share CTI via a new secure and equal federated global data sharing model that respects and protects the CTI they share internationally, while delivering each country enhanced, threat-led/threat-informed cyber defence & cyber risk management. Australians take pride in helping others, (mateship, spirit of ANZAC etc.) and I like to think this cultural value extends to cyberspace. As a co-founder of CI-ISAC, I'd also like to think that small international engagements like this with Paul/ECU, help not only Australia to become a 'leading cyber nation', but more importantly prove that, just as is true domestically that we are #strongertogether when we #leavenoonebehind for collective cyber defence, the logic of such values extends to other countries in the global community of nations. Great overview of the US TEFCA framework for health data exchange between QHINs (qualified health information networks) connecting hundereds of participant health systems across the states for the first time.
