There is an increasing trend towards the use of FBS flight training systems due to economic reasons and ease of maintenance. Indeed, FBS (Fixed Base Simulator) systems are valuable effective tools in the early stages of a type rating training course. However, FBSs cannot match the capability of FFSs in the advanced sessions of type rating training. Level D Full Flight Simulators offer; 1. An identical cockpit setup and layout to a real aircraft-(FBS is also capable). 2. A broad field of vision, and simulation in day, night, and dusk conditions-(FBS is also capable). 3. Full six degrees of motion-(FBS is not capable). There are some noticeable limitations nonetheless for the FFSs. One of them is the simulation of sustained acceleration and the effect of gravity forces. However, those can be partly ignorable from the perspective of the aim of the type of the training. Almost all types of training required for an airliner including “Type Rating”, “Recurrent/ Refresher”, Line Oriented Flight Training (LOFT), Line Flying Under Supervision (LIFUS) can be done via using Level D FFSs without burning fuel, avoiding total operating costs, insurance costs etc. #pilot_training #typerating Boeing Airbus Aircraft Lufthansa Aviation Training Group

CAE and VietJet Air have signed a long-term agreement for the CAE Pelesys Training Management and Deployment System and Aircraft Type and Special Operations CBT for initial and recurrent training. Starting October 1, approximately 5,000 users, including 1,000 VietJet pilots, will benefit from the CAE Pelesys software suite. ✈️🖥 The use of CAE Pelesys is part of Vietjet’s digital transformation, which will standardize training delivery and management and seamlessly integrate training management data into the airline’s operations systems. The deployment of CBT will make training more convenient for pilots and more cost-effective for the airline. 📈 In addition to CAE Pelesys, Vietjet currently operates three CAE-built Airbus A320 simulators, and CAE delivers Airbus A330 training to VietJet pilots.
