Evocent Leadership Development’s Post

This time of year, my family and I are filled with gratitude for the many blessings in our lives. Thanksgiving is a time steeped in tradition for us. Growing up, we gathered at my grandparents’ home with aunts, uncles, and cousins. The men played penny ante poker, the ladies played dice games, and we kids were on cleanup duty in the basement wash tub. One aunt made cream puffs, always slipping in a prank filling for a laugh. Another made a pumpkin chiffon pie no one has been able to replicate. And Grandma gave us kids a splash of her homemade wine with a little 7-Up—memories I cherish to this day. Now, we continue the tradition with my mom, siblings, and all of our families. With two ovens, I often host! We gather 25-35 strong, share a traditional Thanksgiving meal, tell stories, play games, and simply enjoy the warmth of being together. There's a fire in the fireplace, wine on the table, turkey and pumpkin pie to share, and love all around. I am truly blessed. This season is also a time for reflection and gratitude in my professional life. I am deeply thankful for the work I am privileged to do and the opportunity to connect with and support incredible people like you. Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with warmth, joy, and gratitude. 🍁🦃
