Today we’re celebrating the launch of our Employee Resource Group, S.H.I.E.L.D. (Supporting Heroes in Employment, Leadership, and Development). Here’s why its leaders Jamie Vazquez Perkins and Scott Neff hope this new resource will have a lasting impact on their fellow veteran teammates: “This Veterans Day feels especially meaningful as we launch a space where veterans, active service members, and their families can connect, grow, and find professional opportunities. We both know firsthand the bond that unites us through shared service and sacrifice, and we’re proud to help create a community at Evolve where we can honor our experiences, support one another, and celebrate the resilience and dedication of military families.”

The Veteran Leaders Forum launched in 2023 when a few Houston area veterans wanted to see their lives transformed through purposeful relationship building. Our mission is to foster personal and professional growth among military veteran leaders in our community. Since inception, the Forum has carried out this mission in three instinctive ways: 1. Bringing veteran leaders to the table. Our most meaningful conversations with each other about community, family, and career have often taken place while breaking bread together. 2. Giving back to relevant causes. Most recently, we hosted DeliverFund to learn about and support the war against human trafficking that's being waged in our backyards. 3. Creating a peer-led support network. The magic happens when our members meet in their small groups. The conversations revolve around relevant topics where each member draws from their experiences to add value to the group. 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗔 𝗩𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 Transitioning from military to the civilian world is more than just a change in jobs—it’s a shift in 𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮. After 18 years of service, I’ve walked that path, and I’ve seen firsthand the challenges veterans face in finding their place in a new world. The skills we honed in the military—leadership, resilience, teamwork—are invaluable, yet translating them into civilian terms can be daunting. But remember, the journey is not one you have to walk alone. Support systems, whether through coaching, mentorship, or peer networks, are out there to guide us. As we take off the uniform, we don’t leave our values behind. Instead, we bring them forward to build new legacies. Let’s embrace this transition as an opportunity to redefine success on our own terms. #VeteranTransition #LifeAfterService #VeteranSupport #MilitaryToCivilian #ResilienceInTransition #NewBeginnings #ChristianLifeCaoch

ATTENTION INDUSTRY!!! In the military, Warrant Officers play a critical role in technical expertise, leadership, and operational effectiveness within their respective armed forces. If your organization is looking for an “honest broker”, consider former Warrant Officers as your skilled advisors, navigating complex problems with fairness and objectivity. They will be the ones who challenge prevailing opinion for the sake of debate and intellectual exploration, to break the status quo mold and nurture growth.

🎖 Honoring Veterans and Celebrating Legacy As we reflect on service and sacrifice, I want to share a few things that being a Veteran taught me—lessons that extend well beyond the military. During my time in uniform, I learned about discipline, resilience, and teamwork in ways that shape how I approach every challenge. Military life didn’t just prepare me to serve my country—it taught me how to approach every aspect of my life with purpose and integrity. From strategic planning to mentoring others, these lessons continue to guide my journey. Today, I apply those same principles in helping teams and individuals craft their own visions and build paths to their goals. Veterans have unique perspectives that bring resilience and resolve to any environment, and I’m proud to carry that legacy forward in my work. Veterans Day is a reminder that service doesn’t end when we leave the military. It’s about applying what we’ve learned and continuing to make an impact—whether on a team, in a community, or in personal growth. To my fellow Veterans—how has your service shaped your journey? Let’s share and celebrate the ways we’re all still making a difference.

When you understand your WHY, your life gets easier. I’m constantly asking myself: what is my mission, professionally and personally? In the United States Marine Corps, my mission was simple and straightforward: put myself and my team in the best position and training so that they are set up for success when they go overseas. For many veterans, leaving the military means losing their purpose, and finding a cardinal direction for where to go is hard. I was grateful to join the team at Echelon Front, where our mission is drilled into us at every turn – share the leadership lessons of Extreme Ownership to make an impact. My kids are my WHY, too. As a father, I want to make sure my kids are set up and prepared for anything life throws their way. All the hard work I put in at work and in my fitness is to ensure I can always be there when they need me. When you have a strong mission, it doesn’t matter what life throws at you. You find a way to work through challenges because you know why it matters. #leadershipmindset #missionoriented #fatherhood #marines #leaders

Honoring Service and Embracing Alignment 🇺🇸 Today, we honor Veterans Day, a moment to reflect on service, commitment, and resilience. I come from a family deeply rooted in military service, and this day is a powerful reminder of the dedication that goes into every choice we make. Thank you to all who have served and to those who continue to serve. 🔢 It’s also 11/11, a day recognized in numerology as a portal for alignment, vision, and transformation. The energy of 11/11 invites us to pause and reflect: How can we bring more alignment to our lives and businesses? 💭 Reflection: Take a moment today to ask yourself, “How can my work serve not just my goals, but also my community?” By grounding our purpose in service, we create businesses that don’t just thrive—they uplift others, too. #VeteransDay #AlignedBusiness #ServiceAndPurpose #1111Energy
