Welcome to my first content creator experimental design! In this video, I review a recent retracted publication. If you’ve been following me across all socials, you would know that today’s video is on “Scrolling into trouble: Navigating social media’s pitfalls with applied behavior analysts”. The video entails 4 parts, aka experimental conditions (ABCD): Part 1 (A) begins with an in-depth analysis of the article. In this section, I provide quotes within the article, exemplify my insights, and crack some scientifically snarky jokes. Part 2 (B) is when the counter stimulus package is placed. This package includes 6 data hacking academic behaviors, examples to illustrate excessive experimental design fitting, and an overview of the perish or publish culture in academia. Part 3 (C) is where my second variable is implanted. In this portion of the video, I review the responses from my perspective questionnaires (2 people). Seven people told me they wanted to fill one out, but only 3 individuals filled it out in the end (2 of them including behavior analysts cited within the article). Last, part 4 (D) includes a collaboration with Brian Middleton. The purpose of this phase was to demonstrate ethical behavior for IRB requirements when using designs involving human participants. The last section gives the spotlight to Brian Middleton… AKA Bearded Behaviorist. While I do consider myself an academia lover… this video exposes some of the fraud that occurs deep within its roots. On the other hand, if you want to see an in-depth analysis of this article…you have come to the right place. #appliedbehavioranalysis #aba #behavior #research #science #behavioralscience #behavioranalysis #academia https://lnkd.in/ghbUJdKV

I normally don't publish my papers here, but hey, it's free to read before June 7. I think that this paper is great (obviously). It is a part of what I hope to be a paradigm shift in how we validate computations. But it also has a funny story. It started because I wanted to go to a conference. I wanted to go not just because the conference was interesting, but also (and may be - mostly) because I wanted to meet some friends that I hadn't seen a long time. For me, conferences are paid for only if I present something there. So I wrote something not very serious, just some quick, draft ideas. They seemed silly at the time, but were good enough to be accepted. I didn't think something serious will come out of it. Well, now it's my main research project. This paper is the first one of several that are on the way. I also won a EUR100K grant to include ML there. I have here enough work for the next 5-7 years. And I just wanted to meet some friends. https://lnkd.in/d4d2uYt2 And of course many thanks to my collaborators (Nick Eaves and others that are not in LinkedIn) for making this paper from good to excellent

Accidentally purchased LitMaps Pro for 60 USD (annual). Now, I should go for a literature review paper before October 2025. 😁 Fortunately this webinar exists: https://lnkd.in/gH5QSFDJ 1 hour long video? Not a problem. I got this covered by the Wayin AI (www.wayin.ai). Thankfully, it can resume and note all topics in a Youtube video with automatically generated timestamps.
