If you're looking for inspiration to write, this journal is packed with writing tips and challenges to get your creative juices flowing. 87 creative experts from all around the globe, including writers, authors, musicians, artists, photographers, actors, directors and even a few pirates (including the guy from “Talk Like A Pirate Day”) have contributed some tips on how to be creative, or shared their own creative journey. It also includes 30 creative challenges that one reviewer said “is like waving a red flag in front of a bull!” The creative challenges are fun and give you the opportunity to “think outside of the box” to use your imagination like never before. Another reviewer called it a “fidget spinner for the creative mind that will inspire you to move from dreaming to doing…more than once!” https://lnkd.in/ecXbuTNX

One POWERFUL trick I recently learned about self-publishing: (From Hugh Howey author of Wool) Your publishing rights can be time bound. What does this mean? It means most publishing deals give the rights of your book to the publisher… Forever. But you don’t have to. If you don’t have an audience then your leverage here will be close to nill. If you DO though (which is why he recommends SP first) then you can arrange to get your rights back after a specified amount of time. Meaning you could publish with one of the big five houses for five years, and then another one five years later (and potentially collect another advance or different distribution). That’s a game-changer. If you’re curious about SP check out Hughe’s recent interview on Ferriss where he breaks down the publishing game.

Tips for Publication: Facing a publishing roadblock with a co-author. Understand that they may be encountering issues with multiple publishers, or, rather, they may be blocked by multiple publishers. Decided to give it a shot solo. Fingers crossed for a breakthrough! 🤞 #AuthorsLife #PublishingJourney .
