These chuck jaws have been on a journey. The original version was too heavy and clamped with too much pressure, often causing deformation. APG optimized the design for bound metal deposition 3D printing, reducing the weight and the clamping pressure. But, the journey doesn't end there. The chuck jaws were further optimized to be manufactured using MoldJet, a process that 3D prints wax molds that are then filled with a metal paste material. The results?
