Training is paramount to future growth and safety always.
Familiarisation with our products for colleagues, partners and clients these couple of days. I'm excited to see the interest, participation and enthusiasm in putting safety first. Humbled to be able to share and equally happy that nobody dozed off in my sessions 😁 TGIF folks, have a nice weekend!

What to put in the time capsule? ✨ One of our treasures can be this interview on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of SafetyHeads, which continues what we started already a year ago. This time, we're looking at the past year from a different perspective and in a different form. How has SafetyHeads changed over the last 12 months, what made us laugh, and what was a challenge?🌟 Watch the interview and see what we think! 😉 https://lnkd.in/dPyJPjqg

Safety and health are crucial on-site for several key reasons: 1. **Protecting Lives**: The most important reason for prioritizing safety and health is to protect the lives and well-being of all workers. Construction and industrial sites can be dangerous environments with heavy machinery, hazardous materials, and high-risk tasks. Ensuring proper safety measures helps prevent accidents, injuries, and fatalities. 2. **Legal Compliance**: Many industries are governed by strict health and safety regulations. Adhering to these regulations ensures that the company operates within the law, avoiding legal penalties, fines, or shutdowns. 3. **Reducing Accidents and Injuries**: A focus on safety reduces the likelihood of accidents, which can cause physical harm, disrupt work, and lead to costly downtime. Implementing proper safety protocols ensures smoother operations and minimizes work disruptions. 4. **Promoting Efficiency and Productivity**: A safe work environment promotes better morale and productivity. Workers who feel safe are more confident and focused on their tasks, leading to better performance and fewer errors. 5. **Minimizing Financial Losses**: Accidents on-site can lead to costly medical bills, compensation claims, damaged equipment, and repairs. Prioritizing safety helps reduce these financial risks, saving the company money in the long run. 6. **Protecting Company Reputation**: A strong commitment to safety and health reflects positively on a company’s reputation. Clients, partners, and workers are more likely to trust a company that demonstrates responsibility toward its employees' well-being. 7. **Long-Term Health of Workers**: Ensuring a healthy working environment helps prevent long-term health problems, such as respiratory issues, chronic injuries, or mental health strain, that can arise from unsafe conditions over time. In short, safety and health on-site protect workers, #health #safety #occupation
Safety just left the group chat. Let me bring it back though. #questionforthegroup what can you say about this? #safetyfirst

A few months ago James MacPherson and I had an impromptu chat about a post on LinkedIn had ruffled some feathers. (Mine. My feathers were RUFFLED.) The post itself was regarding a cut Hi Vis and the responding approach taken by the safety professional on site. In our chat (rant) we touch on - the condescending, gendered and bragging elements, - the technical safety element, - how might new safety professionals view this? - Is LinkedIn the right place to be having these conversations? - Is there an alternative? - What is the context of the approach and do we consider it enough? - Echo chambers and safety culture on site. We also answered a listener question: "What do we need to do to prevent health and safety being a thankless task?" I *loved* this chat. The craic was 90 and the swear words were flying so if you listen to this in the car with the kids, on your own head be it 😅 🎧:https://lnkd.in/ef_igH-x 📺: 👇🏻 #HealthAndSafety #PPE #RiskFluent #RebrandingSafety #SafetyFriends

Safety Spotlight 🦺📢🚨 "Karl does a great job with his team in regards to safety! He is very passionate about keeping them safe and injury free. As he describes, he is very direct and straight forward regarding safety. He makes sure that his team is comfortable and fully equipped to tackle the days tasks in a safe manner. Karl spends a lot of his day being out ahead of the drivers to G.O.A.L. the next upcoming job and communicate or make a plan to stay out of harm's way. I am very thankful to have Karl managing the great team that is Croell Inc. Ready Mix in Cody, Wy." Nominated by: Don Rattell, Safety Officer Why should safety be important to your crew? Everyone here wants everyone to go home safe and healthy at the end of the day. What do you and your team do to promote safety and ensure a safe work environment? Our team does a great job of training and looking out for each other! Don’t look for short cuts, always do the right thing! Call each other out if needed. Assess a new environment before you drive into it. These environments include big job sites and small private deliveries. They both carry potential safety hazards and can pose big dangers. Finally, don't micromanage. The team knows what to look for and if someone is not sure, they know to ask before the incident occurs. What measures does your Crew/Plant take to improve safety? I have been around awhile. If I see something that isn't right, it gets fixed immediately. Appropriate signage, checklists, daily driver inspections all work together to help keep us safe. I am lucky to have a seasoned team that knows we help everyone, we are a team. If it looks like someone needs help, offer help. If someone asks for help, help out if you can. If you are not sure, contact someone. When it comes to new team members, ample time is spent to make sure they know what they are doing. They will spend time one-on-one until I think they are ready. Even when they are ready, I will still keep that person around other drivers on jobs. They can go solo when I feel it's right and when they feel ready. #CroellInc #concrete #safety #safetyspotlight #employeerecognition

Thanks, Dave Caffrey for sharing your personal commitment to safety! Understanding and sharing our personal motivations for working safely is a powerful tool in fostering a culture of safety at work. It’s a reminder that behind every safety rule and protocol, there are individuals with unique reasons for wanting to stay safe. Let’s embrace our motivations, share them openly, and together, create a workplace where everyone feels valued, protected, and inspired to prioritize health and safety. There are so many people who count on us to return home safely from work. Safety incidents can have devastating impacts on not only the employee who is injured, but their family as well. What’s your motivation for working safely? Share your story and join the movement towards a safer, more conscientious workplace. #makesafetypersonal #bakerhughes
My daughter, Lorna, depends on me being safe. Every decision I make, every action I take, reflects not only on my well-being but also her future. Commitment to safety is deeply rooted in the relationships we cherish. For many, the driving force behind prioritizing safety stems from a profound sense of responsibility towards family, friends, and colleagues. Family members inspire us to create a safe home environment, where everyone can thrive without fear. Friends remind us of the importance of looking out for one another. Colleagues foster a culture of safety at work, emphasizing teamwork and shared accountability. In essence, our commitment to safety is a reflection of our connections. It’s the love for our families, the loyalty to our friends, and the camaraderie with our colleagues that propel us to act responsibly, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a secure and healthy environment. #Makesafetypersonal #bakerhughes

🏗️ National Safety Week: Driving Personal Ownership in Safety 🛠️ Safety is everyone's responsibility. That's why, during National Safety Week, we're starting with a key topic: taking personal ownership. It's not just about following the rules; it's about proactively identifying and addressing risks before they lead to incidents, and about accepting a greater level of responsibility for our safety and the safety of others. At Milender White, when we See Something, we Say Something. Whether it's an unsafe condition or behavior, we act to correct it, report it, or stop work until it is resolved. We encourage our team members to speak up, because every voice matters when it comes to safety. During National Safety Week, let's all take a moment to reflect on how we can strengthen personal safety ownership. Together, we can create a safer industry and ensure that every project is completed without incident. Thank you to everyone at MW for your commitment to safety. Let's continue to lead the way by owning our safety and supporting each other. Stay safe, and let's build a safer tomorrow. #MilenderWhite #NationalSafetyWeek #SafetyFirst #PersonalOwnership #ConstructionSafety
