Day 20 Challenge: Educate Others About DIY Cleaning Products 🧼 my Diy cleaning product of choice today is ash and here's all you need to know : To use ash for washing, you need to first collect wood ash, sift it to remove large particles, then mix it with water to create a "lye" solution which can be used to clean dishes or clothes by applying it directly to the surface and scrubbing with a sponge or cloth; however, be cautious as ash can be harsh on skin and should be handled with gloves and diluted properly before use. Key points about using ash for washing: Source: Use only untreated wood ash from a fireplace or campfire. Preparation: Sift: Pass the ash through a fine sieve to remove large particles. Mix with water: Add the sifted ash to a container and mix with a large amount of water, allowing it to sit for a day to create a "lye" solution. Filter: After soaking, strain the liquid to remove any remaining ash particles. How to use ash for washing: Dishes: Apply the ash solution directly to dishes with a sponge and scrub as you normally would.
