If you look around, you will notice excellence everywhere. It might be the flawless service at a hotel, the unforgettable meal at a restaurant, the hard-earned success of a student acing their exams, or a teacher inspiring their class to dream big. It is also in the innovative startup disrupting an industry or the seasoned business leader transforming challenges into opportunities. Yes. Everywhere... But here’s the real question: What do these have in common? They don’t happen by chance. Behind every moment of excellence is a mindset; a deliberate choice to go beyond the ordinary and create something truly remarkable. Growing up, success often felt like something reserved for the “naturally talented” or those lucky enough to have opportunities handed to them. But as I have grown and worked in different roles; as a student striving for good marks, as a professional building my career, and now as an entrepreneur launching a business; I have realized something profound: Excellence isn’t reserved for a select few. It is a mindset anyone can nurture. This mindset isn’t about perfection. It is about a quiet, persistent belief that you can do better and be better; no matter where you start. What makes an Excellence Mindset so powerful? It boils down to three things: 1️⃣ A desire to achieve something meaningful. 2️⃣ A commitment to being better today than you were yesterday. 3️⃣ A drive to create something that truly makes an impact. As a student, this mindset helped me push through challenges I thought were impossible. As a mentor, it is what I share to inspire others. As a business owner, it is what keeps me moving forward, even when the path ahead is uncertain. And the best part? This mindset is for everyone: students, parents, sportspeople, musicians, professionals... anyone who believes in the power of progress and improvement. What does an Excellence Mindset mean to you? How has it helped you in your life, work, or goals? I would love to hear your stories as we enter this new year full of possibilities. Let’s start a conversation. You certainly hit the nail on the head with this, Murat! Excellence, in my view, is the natural outgrowth of innovation; a constant pursuit to surpass my own limits each day. It involves rejecting complacency, viewing expectations not as a goals to meet, but as challenges to exceed. When thinking beyond conventional boundaries (or "outside of the box") becomes standard practice (the "rule" rather than the "exception"), and we encourage ourselves and others to push further, venture beyond comfort zones, and refuse to be content with the status quo, excellence transforms into a habit rather than a destination.

Exactly! Excellence is indeed a choice—a conscious decision to strive beyond the ordinary.

Agree with all of this: “What makes an Excellence Mindset so powerful? It boils down to three things: 1️⃣ A desire to achieve something meaningful. 2️⃣ A commitment to being better today than you were yesterday. 3️⃣ A drive to create something that truly makes an impact.” 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

🎈🙌 Murat Aydin, your insightful message and video are right; indeed, "Mindset is everything." 📈🙌 I believe excellence is a mindset developed through passion, persistence, and consistency. The legendary Aristotle wisely said, "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit." 🙏🙌 Thanks for sharing your brilliant message alongside the inspiring video by your dear friend and co-founder of Excellence Talks, Dr. Christian Forstner.

Excellence is a choice we all can make.

For me, excellence is tied to continuous growth. People strive for overnight success but more times than not, success is a long term decision to strive to be better each day. Thank you for sharing this Murat Aydin
