Here’s 3 quick tips and tricks to help get noticed: 1️⃣ Make sure it’s evidence-based by framing your panel/abstract around a new piece/s of research, evaluation, or case study. 2️⃣ For panel proposals, look for opportunities to compare evidence across countries/regions, or bring in global perspectives. (Panel proposals focused exclusively on PNG or the Pacific should look to our PNG or Pacific Update conferences.) 3️⃣ Also panels should aim to to feature local researchers and partners. 🗓️ Apply by 31 August. I had the pleasure of attending the ITT LLDC event in #Mongolia last week, which was hosted by the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries, the International Telecommunication Union, and the Communications Regulatory Commission. One of the biggest takeaways was the need for #regulatory best practices, true viable economic feedback, and the feasibility of establishing a satellite ecosystem. We heard from countries, learning from their experience to help shape new entrants. The other key aspect was the critical need for countries to consider #resiliency measures with #satellites to #terrestrial infrastructure. We can no longer rely on traditional infrastructure as we continue to experience devastating weather events. The digital divide is real and becomes more precarious with each passing day. I look forward to more discussions and action in the near future. Today, I had the pleasure of representing the Generations & Gender Programme at the ESFRI Roadmap 2026 Information Day in Brussels. The event was a significant step in advancing European Research Infrastructures, as it highlighted the collaborative process behind building a future-proof research landscape in Europe. As underscored by the recent Draghi report, increased funding and stronger coordination across Member States are crucial to achieving the scale required for world-leading research and technological infrastructures. ESFRI’s commitment to fostering excellence through the Roadmap reflects this need to unlock greater R&I capacity across Europe. Looking forward to contributing to this important mission in the coming years.
