Ramadan Kareem to those observing! 🌙 As we enter the blessed month of Ramadan, it's essential to take a moment to understand its significance and embrace the values it embodies. 📅 Ramadan, also known as Ramazan, is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It holds profound spiritual significance for Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the revelation of the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad and is observed through fasting, prayer, reflection, and acts of charity. During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset, abstaining from food, drink, smoking, and other physical needs. This practice fosters self-discipline, empathy for others, and a deeper connection to one's faith. Fasting during Ramadan is deeply ingrained in the fabric of Islam as one of its five pillars, believed to draw the faithful nearer to God, instill discipline, and cultivate empathy for the less fortunate. This practice serves as a reminder of the plight of those in need, promoting virtues of sacrifice and empathy, ultimately encouraging acts of charity and obligatory giving (‘zakat’). 🌟 Beyond the physical aspects, Ramadan is a time for spiritual growth, forgiveness, and strengthening community bonds. It encourages individuals to engage in introspection, seek forgiveness, and cultivate gratitude for blessings. Let's use this opportunity to learn more about Ramadan and extend our support and understanding to our Muslim colleagues and friends. As we gather to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birth of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Up On Him), let us take a moment to reflect on the profound impact his life and teachings have on us. This day is not just a remembrance of his birth, it is a reminder of the values he embodied compassion, humility, justice, and love. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us that our purpose in life is to serve others and to strive for goodness. He demonstrated patience in adversity, kindness to all, and consistent faith in ALLAH. Let us draw inspiration from his life as we handle our own challenges. Remember: Just as the Prophet faced numerous challenges with grace, let us approach our difficulties with resilience and faith. In a world that often feels divided, let us be ambassadors of peace and understanding. A simple act of kindness can create ripples of positivity. The Prophet stood for justice and equality. Let us advocate for what is right in our communities and stand against injustice wherever we see it. This Eid Milad-un-Nabi, I encourage you to: Take time to assess how closely your actions align with the teachings of the Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa Sallalah Ho Ala Muhammad. Are you embodying love and kindness in your daily interactions? Find ways to give back to your community. Whether through volunteering or helping those in need, your efforts can make a significant difference. Use this occasion to deepen your relationship with ALLAH through prayer, reciting the Quran, and seeking knowledge about Islam. Share messages of love and unity with those around you. A positive word can uplift someone spirit and strengthen community bonds. #ProphetMuhammad(PBUH) #EidMiladunNabi #12thRabiulAwal

As we approach the final days of Ramadan (yes, it's hard to believe how quickly time has flown!), with just a few days remaining until Eid, I cannot help but share a recitation clip from one of the greatest Quran reciters (Sheikh Yasir Ad Dawsary). The importance of the Quran is huge. As Muslims, we believe the Quran is direct speech from Allah, which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a gift. The beauty of the Quran is highlighted and magnified when a prophecy within the Quran has come true, which is the book is easy to memorise (Quran, 54:17). There's no other book in the world which has been memorised by millions of people from young to old, boys to girls. Regardless, of the Quran being foreign speech to most, the miracle of the Quran is evident when there's a 11-year-old kid in Asia, Africa or in Europe who has memorised the whole Quran (circa 604 pages). We need to make a conscious effort to make the most out of these last few days in Ramadan, and cherish the blessings of the Quran by increasing in our recitation and focus.
