🌟 Proud Moment! 🌟 I'm thrilled to share that I’ve received a Certificate of Participation for attending the webinar on "Latest Research on Advanced IC Design, Experimental Optics, Biosensors, Quantum Information & Condensed Matter Physics," organized by EduCare Taiwan. This experience has been an incredible opportunity for learning and growth! As a final-year Biomedical Engineering student, this webinar offered valuable insights into cutting-edge technologies that intersect with healthcare innovation. Topics like Advanced IC Design and Biosensors are directly relevant to my ongoing project on personalized testing kits and chemical strips for vaccine transportation. Understanding these advancements has deepened my knowledge and given me ideas to enhance my project solutions. The session on Experimental Optics particularly inspired me, highlighting potential non-invasive techniques, aligning with my interest in alternative methods for detecting blood vessel blockages. Moreover, exploring Quantum Information opened my mind to future possibilities in secure medical data handling. This webinar reinforced my passion for biomedical engineering, connecting theory to real-world applications. A huge thanks to EduCare Taiwan for organizing such an enriching event and to all the experts for their invaluable insights. Looking forward to applying these learnings in my future projects and collaborations! 🚀

🎓Bachelor in the pocket! I am proud to announce that I succesfully finished my Bachelor Biomedical Engineering at the University of Technology Eindhoven and received my BSc certificate during the Momentum celebration last week! At the end of June 2024, I defended my bachelor thesis, entitled: ‘Adaptation of Excitation-Contraction Coupling in the Failing Human Heart: investigation in a FEniCS-based finite-element model’. During my Bachelor End Project, I extended an already existing finite element model of the left ventricle by implementing an adaptation model in the software FEniCS. The adaptation model simulates automatic adjustment of the rate of force generation in cardiac myocytes when changes are recognized in surrounding myocytes. It was researched whether the implementation of the adaptation model contributes to the homogeneity of the contraction pattern of the cardiac myocytes in the finite element model. Afterwards, model parameters were modified in order to simulate heart failure to research the performance of the adaptation model under pathological conditions. Looking ahead, I am excited to continue my academic journey. Last September, I started with the MSc Medical Engineering at the TU/e. Part of this master are the clinical modules conducted at Maastricht University Medical Centre (MUMC+). I am curious what the future will bring!

Bright minds from UT Southwestern, UT Dallas, UT Arlington, and the University of North Texas came together to tackle pressing medical challenges at the North Texas Biomedical Engineering Symposium. Given just one hour, the winning team proposed an innovative nanoparticle therapy to repair cartilage in osteoarthritic joints.
