We published this a couple of years ago. It's a Member Resource which I think you will find both useful and interesting... I know I did! 🚀 Embedding Enterprise & Entrepreneurship in Higher Education: A Path to Student Success 🌍 Over the past two decades, the landscape of enterprise and entrepreneurship education has seen remarkable growth in the UK. This shift is largely driven by both government and EU investments, with a focus on fostering entrepreneurial activity that fuels economic growth. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have responded by offering an increasing diversity of programs, modules, and extra-curricular activities designed to help students develop their entrepreneurial mindsets. From regional and national competitions to practical business challenges, students are gaining invaluable exposure to real-world experiences, connecting with external stakeholders, and even starting businesses while still in school. However, while the momentum is undeniable, there are still challenges in embedding enterprise and entrepreneurship across disciplines outside of traditional business and management. 🌱 The Evidence is Clear: Entrepreneurial Skills Matter Emerging research continues to highlight the importance of fostering entrepreneurial competencies—not just for those looking to start their own ventures, but for all students aiming to thrive in the workforce. 🔍 Key Highlights from the Latest Case Study Series: In this second series of case studies, we explore a range of emerging initiatives that are helping to bridge the gap between enterprise education and diverse academic disciplines. These include: 🌐 Work-based learning challenges that connect students with regional organizations. 🤝 Cross-disciplinary teams that collaborate to enhance entrepreneurial ideas. 🧑💻 An innovation lab that encourages extra-curricular, hands-on learning. 🎓 Integrating employability and enterprise opportunities into study programs. 📱 Digital skills acceleration in the post-Covid era. These case studies showcase real examples of how HEIs are creating opportunities for students to learn, grow, and succeed through entrepreneurship. The project not only promotes innovation but also offers a safe space for institutions to share challenges and collaborate for continuous improvement. 🔗 Collaborative Effort for Student Success This series highlights the importance of collaboration—across disciplines, institutions, and sectors—in advancing enterprise and entrepreneurship education. We believe this series will provide insights, inspiration, and practical takeaways to enhance student outcomes and foster the entrepreneurial leaders of tomorrow. #HigherEd #Entrepreneurship #EnterpriseEducation #StudentSuccess #CollaborativeLearning #Innovation #SkillsDevelopment #EntrepreneurialMindset

My master's thesis in collaboration with the Designing Education Lab at Stanford University was on how education can foster entrepreneurial and innovative self-believes. It turns out that a supportive community, interdisciplinarity, and practical and hands-on courses do ignite an interest in entrepreneurship and innovation. Besides that, they also foster personal development, open up (career development) opportunities, equip students with professional and technical skills, set them apart from others, and facilitate students to pivot careers. This study was based on the answers of the 136 alumni of the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) program, of which 39 were pursuing entrepreneurship when taking the survey. #education #entrepreneurship #innovation
