"To date, the national higher education field has developed multiple frameworks of metrics, thresholds, and consequences by which different oversight entities could hold institutions accountable for student outcomes. *Few proposals, however, provide sufficient detail about how federal, state, or institutional policies can properly coordinate, fund, design, support, and oversee improvement in student outcomes, and ideally do so as a coherent system.*" Please systems thinkers, apply.
Arnold Ventures, the Gates Foundation, the Joyce Foundation, & Strada Education Foundation are partnering to support the higher education field. Proposals are due 7/26/24. Learn more about this initiative here:

RSVP TODAY for "Right, Wrong or Different?” (RSVP at: https://go.gmu.edu/iewrwd) Join CLIE, OIPS, & Carter School Professor Patricia Maulden, for an engaging and important discussion about how societies can recover after war/conflict. This program is part of International Education Week. Dinner will be provided for all participants. "How Can Societies Recover After War/Conflict? Examining Restorative Approaches” with Carter School Professor Patricia Maulden, PhD Restorative practices can have many different meanings in different cultures around the world. For example, restorative can be interpreted as bringing back pre-war dynamics and the status quo. On the other hand, restorative can be seen as moving away from the dilemmas of the past and mapping out social and political approaches that build peace, resilience, and post-conflict reconciliation at all levels of engagement. Young people, making up the majority of the post-conflict demographic, have a large stake in the future. Adults, on the other hand, can often cling to the values and practices of the past. Within the gaps, and alternative values, lies the hope for the future. During this interactive program we will explore the roadblocks and the great potential of restorative approaches in post-conflict societies around the world.
