From our latest edition of THE OUTLOOK, here is an update on Air Freight: The Headlines: Air freight rates are on the rise, driven by a combination of higher demand and capacity constraints, which are expected to persist into Q3 2024. Geopolitical events, particularly what’s happening in the Red Sea, are the main factors. The disruptions have led to rerouting and an increased demand for air freight as an alternative to maritime shipping and a way to manage delays and avoid bottlenecks. What’s Important: Although the increase in air freight has been largely due to the Red Sea crisis, e-commerce growth is also strong on major trade lanes, continuing to drive demand. Overall, as of May, air volumes increased by double digits for five consecutive months, reversing a steep decline that began in 2022. With ocean continuing to have its own problems, air freight will remain an alternative for companies even as rates remain elevated. #theoutlookQ3 #thefreightarchitects #jaguarfreight #logistics

- Bottlenecks are appearing in South-east Asia and the Philippines as the peak airfreight season approaches. - Blank sailings and sinking volumes are causing challenges for exporters using container lines. - Dimerco Express Group predicts a surge in airfreight traffic from now until mid-October. - Capacity will be further squeezed by China's Golden Week holiday, leading to a rush to ship goods before the holiday. - Intra-Asia routes will experience the most strain, while longhaul capacity may be diverted to meet peak demand. - Airfreight capacity to Europe is tight, and Singapore's Changi Airport is experiencing the tightest capacity. - Hong Kong and Taiwan have adequate airfreight capacity to the US, but most other gateways are already tight. - Congestion and capacity issues are observed in Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines. - Shippers are advised to book express products for urgent shipments out of Manila due to tight lift and congestion at connecting hubs. - Capacity out of Chinese airports is generally tight, and securing space for semiconductor equipment shipments is becoming challenging. - In container shipping, capacity reductions and blanked sailings are occurring as the peak season winds down. - Rates continue to drop, especially to the US east coast, and some carriers have offered special pricing due to high vacancy rates. - Intra-Asia sectors and routes from South-east Asia to the north-east region face capacity issues and delays.

From our latest edition of THE OUTLOOK, here is an update on Ocean Freight: The Headlines: Ocean freight rate volatility remains an issue, driven largely by geopolitical tensions, the global economy, and ongoing disruptions. Since May 2024, spot rates have surged on major trade routes from Asia to European and U.S. ports. Early season demand and the ongoing conflicts in the Red Sea region are continuing to impact transit times and disrupt schedules. One result of that has been shippers frontloading imports, further escalating rates. What’s Important: Despite the current challenges facing ocean freight, there are several positive developments. The increased adoption of technology is slowly but surely improving network efficiency, leading to faster processing times and better capacity management. Fleet modernization and international efforts to stabilize geopolitical hotspots are helping. The benefit of transportation partners who can connect and share real-time data with shippers, as well as their suppliers and customers, is greater than ever. #theoutlookQ3 #thefreightarchitects #jaguarfreight #logistics

Southeast Asia,we can take care of your shipments. Welcome to this week's column, where we'll explore the latest trends and developments in the freight forwarding industry. As a weekly feature, we'll focus on highlighting the advantages of our company and the trends in global cargo transportation. This week, let's delve into how we bridge the gap between Southeast Asia and South America~ For now, we could provide service from four Southeast Asia country: Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. From these countries, most export products are like tires, wood, chemical goods, furnitures. Many Chinese factories have set up new branch in above countires, so in the future, these countries will have huge potential opportunities. With those carriers, we have contract tariff covering base ports of above mentioned south east Asina countires . From these countires , we can offer a variety of choices for you which you can benefit from ,let's break it down: 1. MSK/HPL: Right now, MSK/HPL mainly offers online spot rates. That means all forwarding companies can get those rates, but here's the kicker—there aren't many spaces available. It's like trying to fit a lot of stuff into a tiny space. 2. COSCO has long-term key acount/project cargoes with big customer ,so the NVOCC hard to secure the space . 3. WHL: In Thailand, WHL has around 70 employee in their office. They've got a good grip on the whole Southeast Asian market, which means they can offer sweet deals. 4. MSC: MSC's superpower is that they can handle big stuff and heavy cargo. So, if you've got some hefty shipments, MSC is the way to go. So, there you have it—why we're the bomb at getting your stuff from Southeast Asia to South America. Stay tuned for more insights next week!

The #containershipping industry is facing renewed challenges with #congestion and #containershortages, as shippers struggle to secure space and equipment during an unexpected peak market. Severe space constraints and chronic container shortages, particularly 40ft containers in central and north China🇨🇳, have driven June market freight rates to USD6000-6500/40ft to N.Europe, USD6500-7000/40ft to USWC, and USD7500-7800/40ft to USEC. Despite these high rates, securing space and equipment remains critical. The situation echoes the peak of #COVID19 disruptions, albeit without the pandemic 😷 . Major Asian hub ports including Port Klang Malaysia 🇲🇾, Shanghai- Ningbo China 🇨🇳 , Colombo Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 and Singapore 🇸🇬 are experiencing significant vessel 🚢 bunching and vessel delays. The trend shows no sign of easing soon. “The port congestion in Asia and the sudden surge in demand, now soaks up even more capacity – capacity which the market does not have. Carriers are blanking sailings, not in attempt to restrict capacity, but simply because they do not have free vessels to maintain weekly services, when vessels get stuck at ports.” https://lnkd.in/daydn4G9
