Sunshine Drinks In The Fall The sun has made a welcome return in the PNW this week. You can count on Mother Nature to provide a little respite from the gloomy weather just when it is most needed. So in this week’s newsletter, I push aside the drink recommendations I had planned and instead opt for a couple of summer cocktails. A little vitamin D for the soul as it were. If you fancy joining me for a mojito (Mocktail Club) and an amaro spritz (OPTIMIST Drinks | B corp™), well … you know where to find me. Also there's news of new drink launches from the band Deftones, Hilfens, Station 26 Brewing Co., Upslope Brewing Company, Prost Brewing Company, VETO®, Partake Brewing and Dappled Tonic. Comes out bright and early tomorrow morning for the West Coasters. A little later as you head east. —— CURIOUS about adult non-alcoholic drinks but don’t know where to start? 🍺How Much Beer is Good for You? 🍺 Finding the right quantity for beer consumption? Here's a hoppy guide to keep it moderate and enjoy the benefits: 1️⃣ **One for the Road:** Keep it to one standard drink per day for women and up to two for men. Quality over quantity, always! 2️⃣ **Mindful Pours:** Savor each sip. Opt for lower alcohol content brews; they're just as tasty with a fraction of the punch. 3️⃣ **Hydration High-Five:** Alternate beer with water. Stay refreshed and maintain that perfect balance. 4️⃣ **Pair with Purpose:** Enjoy your beer with a good meal. Food slows alcohol absorption, making for a delightful and responsible experience. 5️⃣ **Know Your Limits:** Everyone is different. Listen to your body, and if you feel tipsy, it's time to stop. The ideal beer quantity depends on factors like individual tolerance, health, and personal preference. However, general guidelines suggest: 🍺 For Men: Up to 355 ml (12 ounces) per day 🍺 For Women: Up to 235 ml (8 ounces) per day Remember, moderation is key. Listen to your body and enjoy responsibly. Cheers! 🍻 #BeerGuidelines #DrinkResponsibly #beer #bevrages

The #sobercurious movement reaches beyond Dry January, to include "zebra striping," all year round. The practice of alternating alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks may not be new, but the term is, and reflects a newfound popularity and social cache. The Technomic, Inc. Q3 2024 Ignite Consumer Report found that 30% of consumers who ordered an alcoholic drink also ordered a nonalcoholic beer, wine or cocktail. Compared to the consumer average of just 16%, zebra striping seems to be a strong trend. Offer your patrons the flexibility they want, with Longbottom & Co. Virgin Mary, a smashing good solution with or without the spirits. Alcohol free beers at work 🍺🥪 With over a year of sobriety under my belt and a last name like Beercock, it feels like I’m pretty qualified to talk about this! I’ve recently noticed that supermarkets are now including alcohol free beers in their meal deals, and honestly, I’m excited about it. For those of us who’ve chosen to go sober, it’s a great sign of progress. It means more accessible, enjoyable, and inclusive choices when grabbing a quick lunch. For a long time, going alcohol free often felt like you had to compromise on taste or stick to water and sugary drinks but with alcohol free options now mainstream and readily available, it’s easier to enjoy a proper drink that still fits a balanced lifestyle. ⚖️ Whether you’re sober, cutting back, or just curious, this shift reflects something bigger, it’s about making healthy, balanced choices feel normal. So, next time you grab a meal deal, maybe give one of these alcohol free beers a try! Anyone else noticed this change? What are your thoughts on alcohol free options becoming more mainstream? Would you allow it on the desk in your office? #AlcoholFree #SoberLiving #MealDeals #Wellness #SobrietyJourney #HealthyChoices #Tesco #Sainsburys #Luckysaint #Corona

How did I find dry January this year? Fantastic. I probably sound like a broken record like everyone else who kept banging on about how great it made them feel. But the reason for bringing this to LinkedIn is because of a wider thought that no doubt others have had too. Why aren’t more pubs serving 0% draught beer and why aren’t manufacturers making lo-no draught more accessible? 🍺 There are so many instances when people buy their non-alcoholic beers in bottles or cans with big glaring 0% on the front (shown below), which often leads to the inevitable ‘why aren’t you drinking’ line, which is annoying. But this would be easily avoided if people were given a pint glass with no logo indicating it is alcohol free - maybe a sneaky under the glass one would do. 📈 What’s more, it has become apparent that younger people are giving up drinking in larger numbers, and we want to protect our quintessential British pub culture, so surely there’s a big opportunity being missed? 👫 And finally, I’ve come to realise (and maybe this is showing my age) that you don’t need to sink multiple drinks to have a good time, being present is key. Now, I did have a drink on the 1st Feb – however my point still stands, more should be done to make everyone feel included no matter what their drinking status. Shout out to Lucky Saint | B Corp™ who have already made this happen, let’s continue this trend and make it readily available – in clear, normal pint glasses. P.s Corona (Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I) and Birra Peroni your 0% beers are gr8! #Pubs #DryJan #Hospitality

Yes there is a huge demand for #lowandno alcohol offers in venues and we hear at events how operators HAVE to get a better understanding of this category. KAM KAM have focussed on this topic for several years and this event will guide, inspire and help you get a revenue source that you may be currently missing. Drinks brands within the Low & No category have a golden opportunity to network, sample and demonstrate how they can activate innovation and quality into venues. #lowandno #hospitality #revenuebuilder
Brits are Drinking Differently. Check out our latest infographic showing how booze is becoming less central to how we socialise. In 2023, the top 3 ways Brits were moderating: 1. Drink alcohol on fewer days of the week 2. Drink less on a 'drinking occasion' 3. Alternate between alcohol & alcohol-free on a 'drinking occasion' Interested in hearing more?
