🎶🎙 Well, this is exciting!! 🎼🎧 Christian Aid has released a charity single, alongside our Christmas Appeal - but this is not just a charity single. Well, ok, yes it is. But it was a fascinating project to work on and the track which has come out of all the collaboration is emotive with a great hook! The song is called Hold On To Hope. We teamed up with London rap artist Jords (https://lnkd.in/eViGFMDg) and the amazing iNSIGNIA choir from Worship Tabernacle Church, in London (https://lnkd.in/eM26H9RX). The aim is to highlight the scale of conflict around the world as well as the devastating impact on the lives of people living through it. There is, of course, a fundraising aspect - proceeds from downloads and streams, YouTube plays, and any use of the track on socials will go towards the work of Christian Aid's partners in communities around the world. That could be anything from emergency medical aid to peacebuilding initiatives. It really is impactful work - it's not about people sitting around waiting for help, it's about empowering communities to find solutions and create opportunities for change. (I could talk about this for ages...) When you see the devastation conflict causes - and we've all seen it on the news - it's hard not to feel depressed, so a lot of thought went into how to convey a message of hope through the lyrics of this song. This one line in particular says it well: It’s darkest before dawn but sun is on its way I hope we can find peace, I pray for better days. Then of course, there's the marketing aspect - how do we get the word out? We've used a media agency to pitch to national outlets and lil' ole me to do the regional stuff...which I hope means people living in London will soon be hearing this on their local radio! I also put the word out to church supporters via their communications officers, which is a great way of reaching our faith audience. And now I'm reaching out to people on here - as it's #WorldKindnessDay, why not make this one of your kind deeds and have a listen, download the song, share it around your channels and stand in solidarity with all those living in conflict - that's 1 in 4 people (according to UN stats)!
