I don't think the Apple Vision Pro is a flop. This is the start, I've been using and developing for this device constantly since the Australian release. And it's only been getting better every month since. Sure the hype may have died down, but it hasn't stopped the software from improving. visionOS 2 shows that Apple does listen to (some of) the feedback and they have added many requested features. (I still want a lot more!) Some of the new features I really like are: 1. Navigating home and opening the control centre is significantly improved with gestures (looking to the top of the screen in visionOS 1 was really uncomfortable!) 2. SharePlay for Photos - this is killer (Yes the spatial persona's do look a bit odd) but viewing the spatial photos with someone on a FaceTime call not even in the same country is wild. It's like looking into a portal and then discussing it with someone who is in your room but not in your room. 3. Watching YouTube and Netflix in Safari gets quite a bit better with the ability to watch videos in the immersive environments. I still agree with most of the criticisms on this device and wouldn't recommend most people buy it just yet. (Unless you are a developer or really enjoy exploring early tech!) (Video is of an STL viewing app that I built because I really wanted to preview 3D printer files!) P.S. Keen to hear what are your thoughts? Have you tried the AVP?

Innovative technology is impressive, but its true success comes from how easy it is for people to use. The iPhone and iPod became widely popular not just because they were advanced, but because they were designed to be user-friendly. 📱 The most impactful innovations are those that make complex technology accessible and practical for everyday use. A great product doesn’t just offer new features—it also simplifies and improves upon existing technology, making it more usable for everyone. 🌟 #quoteoftheday #codener #quotes #quotesoftheday #quoteoftheweek #quotesforyou #quotefortheday #technology

Palm's story is a textbook lesson in the fleeting nature of tech success. Once a trailblazer with its Palm Pilot, it now serves as a warning: to stay on top, you need constant innovation, agility, and a forward-thinking approach. In the tech world, if you’re not evolving, you’re falling behind. So, keep innovating, stay flexible, and always look ahead—or risk becoming yesterday's news.

“Why would I carry around an iPad when I already have a phone and a laptop? It doesn’t make sense.” This was the opinion of many experts when the iPad was launched. Since I entered the world of technology in 1982, I have never witnessed a speech like the one Jensen Huang delivered yesterday at #CES2025. The speech opened doors to unprecedented technological advancements. If #NVIDIA succeeds in achieving what was showcased yesterday, or even part of it, the impact of artificial intelligence on the global economy will be unparalleled. So, will the experts’ predictions on AI’s impact will fail once again, just as they failed to predict the success of the iPad?

This is what technology does. It’s disruptive and has no soul. But is this true? Can one device actually “replace” many devices? Can you engineer soul? The truth, IMO, no. Tech like this is the jack of all master of none. It does many things, replace is not one of them. It enables a broader entry level beginners experience for many to do more. Perfect! What it is, is a very good tool, that once you master that what you seek to do on your lap, you will hopefully want to know what real joy feels and sounds like from a truly great application specific device. The next plane. Can an iPad replace the full immersive experience of a real television; can an iPad replace the statisfaction of dropping a needle onto vinyl; can it replace the touch and feel of a piece of equipment that captures that perfect ray of light of a rising sun; can it replace the physical sensation of blowing into or strumming of an instrument held by both hands. Apple has lost its soul with this ad. While these tools are truly incredible devices, and technical marvels, they should be paving the way towards elevating the human experience in the physical world where struggle, time and effort and accomplisment await. Tools like the iPad should not be seen as a replacement for jack, but one more tool to a higher plane in a masters journey. Ipad empowers a master’s start. Why crush the higher planes of that journey? Those higher planes give rise to richer meanings that only drives a desire for more tools like iPad. For all your enlighten wokeness, you’re tone deaf. Why all the hate for those who create on higher planes? After all, don’t we all share the same values of more human creative expression not less? Can’t we all agree our world today needs more love not destruction? We miss you Woz, you too Steve. Apple where has your soul gone?
