In this article, we are discussing the topic for our event with Anniken Hofgaard, Adele Unneberg and Dinesh Ganesan 💡 Norway is good at making new (industrial) green technology, but we're not making enough of it. Norway’s climate tech startups are growing in numbers and over 50% of the country's venture capital is invested into climate tech solutions. But that’s a drop in the ocean of what is needed to drive real change. We need investments on a bigger scale to make the green transition possible. We will continue the discussion in #malmø.

👉 Europe is stepping up as a global climate leader. In my latest Forbes report, Climate tech investors Janneke Niessen, Founding Partner at CapitalT, and Danijel Višević Visevic, Co-founder at World Fund, weigh in on the future of the climate tech sector. “Europe is solidifying its position as a global climate tech leader,” says Niessen. She points to the ambitious targets of the European Green Deal and significant funding, such as Germany’s €8 billion climate and transformation fund. “European climate startups raised over €20 billion in 2023, and I expect this momentum to continue in sectors like carbon capture and green hydrogen,” she explains. 🌏 Leaders who helped shape the State of Climate Tech Q1 2024 report In our latest report, the State of Climate Tech for Q1 2024, we tightened the lens on non-dilutive funding, and specifically, non-dilutive funding as an accelerant for startups within climate tech. To enrich our analysis, we featured Frederico Bilelo Gonçalves, Partner at Innovation@edp, where he commented on EDP Ventures’ investment ethos as a CVC as well as their thoughts on non-dilutive funding. He mentioned, “EDP Ventures is highly receptive to exploring non-dilutive funding structures in our portfolio companies and we encourage it.
