Ghost in your attic, or a raccoon? Watch the video. Coexisting with wildlife is much easier when we understand the species behaviors and remove the element of fear. Babies will be here before you know it. Do not separate mom from her babies. If you have to hire someone to remove mom and babies, select a company that will reunite the family. Did you know that raccoon moms have more than one den? They are prepared in the event one becomes compromised. If you have raccoons in your crawl space or attic, let mom know she has been found. Add a radio tuned to talk radio to the area. Add a cloth or tennis balls soaked in wine vinegar to the area. Tennis balls are easy because you can toss them without getting too close. Safety is key for you and the wildlife! Once the family is out, close up the entry! If you are unsure whether everyone is gone, use a heat sensor (rent from Home Depot or elsewhere). Finally, if mom is out during the day this spring, she is most likely exhausted from the kits and hungry. Give her space and leave her be.
