The National Carbon Capture Center is honored to welcome Chevron as the Center’s newest industrial member. Furthering our collaboration with diverse energy industry leaders, the NCCC’s private-sector membership now includes four of the world's top 10 energy companies. Chevron’s membership reinforces the NCCC’s focus on advancing the deployment of innovative carbon management technologies. Chevron embraces CCUS as an essential tool to lowering the carbon intensity of harder-to-abate sectors like refining, power generation and cement production   Managed and operated by Southern Company for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s National Energy Technology Laboratory, the NCCC has already reduced the cost of CO2 capture by more than 40%. Meeting ambitious net-zero greenhouse gas emissions goals by 2050 is at the forefront of the NCCC’s pioneering efforts. Chevron joins a prestigious team including bp, ExxonMobil and TotalEnergies as NCCC Industrial Advisory Committee members, along with American Electric Power, ClearPath, EPRI, NRECA, Tennessee Valley Authority and Wyoming Integrated Test Center. More #carbon capture customer news. We’ll transport + store up to 1.2 MTA of CO2 from the New Generation Gas Gathering (NG3) project being built in Louisiana. NG3 will gather and treat natural gas produced in east Texas and Louisiana for delivery to U.S. Gulf Coast markets, including for LNG export. Three things to know: 1️⃣ This is our fifth #carboncapture and storage agreement. 2️⃣ It brings the total CO2 we’ve agreed to store for customers up to 6.7 MTA. 3️⃣ It’s our first CCS agreement with a natural gas processing customer. I'm proud that even more industries are choosing our #CCS solutions to meet their emissions reduction goals. ExxonMobil Signs the Largest Offshore Carbon Storage Deal in U.S. History. One of the wealthiest companies on the planet just made another massive play in carbon capture and storage. It secured 271,000 acres of Texas state waters for offshore CCS—its 6th CCS project. Exxon’s strategy is clear: dominate the CCS value chain. After acquiring Denbury in 2023, they now own the largest CO2 pipelines in the U.S. Their LaBarge facility already captures 6–7 million tons of CO2 annually. Exxon's goal is to cut more than 100 million metric tons of emissions annually.
