Fifth Third Bank continued its clean energy progress by introducing hyper-fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers for the first time at one of its banking centers.  The bank is making six hyper-fast charging stations publicly available at its eTown location in Jacksonville, Florida, to better serve current EV owners and those considering transitioning to an EV. Through a collaboration with Electrify America, a hyper-fast charging network in the U.S., EV drivers can charge at the new eTown station and manage their fast-charging plan through Electrify America’s industry-leading mobile app. In addition to the hyper-fast chargers, Fifth Third offers 72 EV charging ports across its footprint. #electricvehicles #zeroemissions

Enel X Way North America Closing e-Mobility Business in US and Canada; JuiceBox Chargers Stranded Assets Some key takeaways from this announcement: 🔋 Residential charging hardware (JuiceBox) will maintain the physical operating ability to charge vehicles. 🔋 All Enel X Way software will be discontinued. Commercial charging stations will lose functionality in the absence of software continuity. 🔋 The Enel X Way App and all other Enel e-mobility apps in North America will be discontinued and removed from the App Store. 🔋 Enel X Way customer support is no longer available, effective immediately. 🔋 The decision to close Enel X Way USA, LLC and related impacts do not apply to Enel X Way customers in other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada. We've just added another 4,000 charge points to our roaming network in the UK, a significant step forward for our European coverage, now totaling over 710,000 charge points. The UK market's preference for payment terminals or multiple apps, driven by CPOs' direct customer connections, is well-known. While beneficial for B2C customers, fleet drivers reliant on employer-issued charge cards require seamless CPO-EMP roaming connections, whether via a roaming hub or directly via OCPI P2P. It's promising to see more UK CPOs embracing roaming. In response, GreenFlux is significantly expanding our UK network, supporting fleet card customers like DKV Mobility with a comprehensive one-stop-shop solution. Welcome onboard, Clenergy EV! We added over 4,000 charge points in the UK by signing a new roaming contract with Clenergy EV, an EV charging software and services provider based in Wales. Clenergy EV also offers software services for EV drivers charging at home and access to an EV driver app with hundreds of thousands of chargers available across the UK and Europe. This partnership allows EV drivers served by GreenFlux’s platform customers, using their existing e-mobility apps and charge card services, to seamlessly access 4,000 charge points. The charge points are located along the most important routes across the UK, with a strong focus on Wales, and include stations operated by Dragon Charging, EVDot, and Nest. ‘We are proud to support the transition towards sustainable mobility for all. This new integration with Clenergy EV increases the GreenFlux network in the UK significantly. The axiom that consumer choice is inherently good doesn't strike me as right. I'm basing that observation on my own experience as a grocery shopper. I frequent two grocery stores -- one that doesn't offer self checkout and a metro Woolies that gives shoppers the option between checking themselves out or asking a clerk to help. I've start going to the metro Woolies more recently because it's more convenient, but I'm increasingly annoyed by self checkout. It was provided under the impression that it was a benefit to consumers. It would lower prices and allow us to get out of the shop more quickly. But, I'm very bad at using the self-checkout and can find three novel ways to stump the machine and make it blink red every time I visit. Self checkout has given me a choice, but it's really made me responsible for something I don't want to be responsible for. I'd like someone else to scan my items, tell me how much I owe and put them in a bag. Increasingly, I wonder if this is what we've done to energy consumers. In fully regulated markets -- like Western Australia -- household and small business consumers don't have choice, but governments make sure they get a fair deal, hopefully even a good deal. They bag the groceries and make sure the bill is reasonable. The National Electricity Market is like metro Woolies -- you can get a good deal, but the price is eternal vigilence, the willingness to change, and the hope you don't check the wrong box.
