From Prosperity to Poverty: Are We Still on the Right Track Empty seats at one of the Nigerian airports this morning, and it’s no surprise. A return ticket from Lagos to Abuja now costs ₦400k, while Lagos to Benin is ₦320k—prices that used to take you all the way to London not too long ago! The middle class has been wiped out in a single swoop. What happened to affordability? It feels like we’re now living in ‘Animal Farm’, where equality is just a mirage. What a country—from grace to grass, from prosperity to poverty. How did we get here? Nigerians, do you think we are still on the right track with governance and leadership in this country? #Nigeria #CostOfLiving #EconomicCrisis #MiddleClassSqueeze #AnimalFarm #LeadershipCrisis

The removal of fuel subsidies in Nigeria has had a profound impact on the country's economy and its citizens. While the intention behind the removal was likely to address fiscal deficits and redirect resources towards more sustainable development initiatives, its immediate impact has been harsh. The spike in poverty levels has been accompanied by a surge in hunger and unemployment rates, exacerbating the security challenges already facing the nation. Desperate individuals, lacking viable means of livelihood, are resorting to criminal activities to survive. Sustainable solutions must be pursued to foster inclusive economic growth and development that benefits all Nigerians. #Nigeria #economy #poverty #unemployment #insecurity

As Nigeria celebrates its 64th independence today, we reflect on our journey as a nation. While we've made strides, challenges remain. Today, I call on organizations, institutions, and leaders to focus on two critical areas: 1. Improving access to quality education 2. Reducing poverty These issues are foundational to our country's future. By investing in education and poverty alleviation, we can unlock Nigeria's vast potential and create opportunities for all citizens especially youths. Let's work together to build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria. Our nation's true independence lies in empowering every Nigerian to thrive. Happy Independence. PEACE! #NigeriaAt64 #Education #PovertyReduction

So much can happen in two years! In 2022, UNICEF celebrated Jigawa state as the first Open Defecation Free (ODF) state in Nigeria. Who would have guessed that two years later, #DUBAWA’s investigation would reveal 7 local governments where open defecation is still prevalent. And this is despite a bye law against the practice. The demands of Nigerians ahead of the proposed national protest must be unified under a singular theme! A fragmented approach will only dilute our impact. Let's focus on a collective vision for a better Nigeria. Personally for me here are some key demands we all need to consider: 1. Good Governance: Hold leaders accountable for transparency, accountability, and effective leadership. -2. Economic Reform: Address poverty, inequality, and unemployment through sustainable economic policies. But honestly all these to have immediate impact on the general public we need to focus on REDUCTION of FUEL ⛽ PRICE By streamlining our demands, we can: - Amplify our voice and message - Build a united front for change - Hold leaders accountable for tangible results Let's come together and demand a new Nigeria! #UnitedForChange #anewnigeriaiscoming #protest

Over to you governments and policy implementers of Africa. Why do you fail to be reasonable? This mantra of tax, tax, and tax will not help us to grow economically. Businesses will not survive such repressive and oppressive tax systems. People will also live life long unemployment. #DMB #JMD #ItIsPossible #NPP #NDC #AkuffoAddo
Passionate about seeing the Alkebulan of my dream emerge. I am unapologetically African. We are building the Emerging Alkebulan. Titles don't matter. Disrupting the status quo. Thought provoker. Pan African to the core.
This is the reason why the youth in Kenya are protesting. Every African country that's been pushed into the burden of loans from the world bank and the IMF is forced to increase their tax burden on their citizens. 🙄 😑 My country Nigeria has something similar brewing despite the economic hardship going on right now. The playbook is always the same. Just listen to this analysis. Africa/Alkebulan wake up from our slumber. We can actually do without the interference of these hegemonic powers. We were doing absolutely fine before they decided to interupt our history. We will even better off if only they leave us alone 😔 🙁 Unfortunately, they would cause more chaos and friction than leave. 😕 😪 The Alkebulan Awakening continues. We seriously need to wakeup to the fact that we have no friends outside of Africa. We are our only solutions. #Oladelesthoughts #Africa #Alkebulan #Africadiaspora #Theafricawewant #AlkebulanAwakening #AlkebulanRenaissance

These high interest loans has been the death trap for many African countries for so many years and this has to end. High taxation on the extreme poor who are struggling to put food on the table for their families, just to payoff these loans is what is slowly killing Africa. Most of our leaders do not care as long as they stay in power or in those leadership positions. Some do not even understand the dynamics of what is happening around them. Africa must rise again but only through radical mass re-education and also constant awareness and media campaigns at the grassroots levels. The whole world needs to understand that a vibrant and prosperous Africa is the best for the entire humanity.
