We are pleased to share the story of our research project MODUOTECH, which is nearing completion. Our journey began with an ambitious goal: to develop smart coatings with reduced heat absorption for modular steel buildings, as well as to provide fire protection for structural elements in modular wooden construction. Collaborating with partners such as Łukasiewicz - Instytut Inżynierii Materiałów Polimerowych i Barwników as the leader, Łukasiewicz – Poznański Instytut Technologiczny, specializing in fire and wood research, and Łukasiewicz – IMN, who supported us with environmental analyses, we have created a passionate and knowledgeable team. This achievement would not have been possible without the financial support in the form of a targeted grant from Sieć Badawcza Łukasiewicz. Our research has led to the development of tangible results that can find practical applications in the economy and be effectively implemented. Based on our knowledge and experience, we have developed innovative solutions such as: ✔ Anti-corrosive IR-reflective coating that eliminates the need for a primer. ✔ Surface coatings that protect against heat absorption in various colors. ✔ A fire-resistant, water-resistant intumescent paint that significantly enhances building safety. ✔ A water-resistant, pigmented fire-retardant paint that minimizes the risk of fire spread. These advancements not only enhance energy efficiency and safety in modular construction but also contribute to the sustainable development of our industry. We extend special thanks to our research team at Paint and Plastics Research Group Łukasiewicz - IMPiB for their commitment and determination. Marzena Nowicka-Nowak, Katarzyna Suchoń, Ewa Langer, Małgorzata Zubielewicz – without your hard work in formulating these innovations, none of this would have been possible. We also appreciate the collaboration with Krzysztof Rajczykowski, Hanna Jaroszek, Piotr Glazer, Mateusz Sydow, Agnieszka Fijałkowska, Jan Mrozowski, Ryszard Kurowski whose studies validating the effects of our work provided valuable insights for product development. As the project comes to a close, we are moving forward with commercialization efforts. If you see an opportunity to apply such coatings in your industry, we encourage you to try them out and get in touch! #Research #Innovation #ModularConstruction #FireSafety #SustainableDevelopment #Coating #Paint #Laboratory
