There is no one way to do a thing in the cloud era: you can use Saas, Iaas, Paas and so on. The costs change, the experience change and also the effort dramatically change. One of the battle you will find when you create a distributed service is about ECS Vs EKs. They are both managed services but the first is strictly coupled to AWS ecosystem and is very easily integrated with all the services (lambda and so on) while the second just help you to manage the infrastructure but is is still a k8s installation and it is all on your own. The first is of course more simple then the second and if you need a rapid go to market it is preferable. Fargate is another way to manage ECS and EKS infrastructure let AWS pick the best choice for you and reduce consumption. For tiny workload it will be the best choice because you will deploy rapidly and you pay what you use (while the other two requires usually reserved instances). Then if your consumption grows you can switch to The original version of service without Fargate. It is a long article but it will explain all Take a look https://lnkd.in/ddAjQUHP
