Another growth area in the pharmaceutical industry, which is expanding rapidly, is 3D printing, not just 3D printing of components. The key components of 3D printing include the ability to fully customize dosage forms to personalize medications to suit an individual’s needs. Instead of getting the same pill as everyone else, 3D printing would allow you to get a specific dosage or even a fully customized release rate that works better for you. Traditional drug production creates a ‘one-size-fits-all’ product, which, while beneficial for most patients, doesn’t benefit all patients. Patients with multiple illnesses or other underlying medical conditions require a more in-depth, customized approach to their medication.💊 • https://lnkd.in/dAXSmDYt • #3Dprinting • #AdditiveManufacturing • #3Dprint • #3Dprinted • #tranpham • www.tranpham.com • Like 👍 what you see ► Repost ♻️, or Hit the Bell 🔔 to follow me.

3D printing has revolutionized classical manufacturing in many ways. Its precision and flexibility have enabled the large-scale production of materials and devices too complex for conventional industrial manufacturing. This has been particularly revolutionary in the field of pharmaceutical production, where 3D printing is being integrated into the manufacture of both drugs and drug delivery devices. 🚀 Have a look at this great new e-book from Wiley titled "3D Printing of Pharmaceutical and Drug Delivery Devices: Progress from Bench to Bedside" (Advances in Pharmaceutical Technology) which offers a comprehensive overview of 3D printing technology and its pharmaceutical applications. 🚀 Big kudos to the editors Sheng Qi from University of East Anglia , Dimitrios A. Lamprou from Queen's University Belfast & Dennis Douroumis from the University of Greenwich! It was a pleasure for me, Thomas Kipping to work together with the team to provide more insights into the topic "Adoption of 3D Printing in Pharmaceutical Industry". #pharma #drugdevelopment #innovation #advancedmanufacturing #3Dprinting

Beginning of this year in my undergraduate, my group and I planned to make a research about 3D printing technology in Drug Delivery Systems for Solid and semisolid formulation undergraduate module under Dr. Lam guidance at London Metropolitan University. It makes huge impact in my perspective of Drug manufacturing field. We learned a lot, what is the standards system is followed and maintained by pharmaceutical companies in Drug Delivery and Discovery process and why the 3D printing still in developing stage. I really thank to Dr Lam and London Metropolitan University for giving this wonderful opportunity and motivate us to learn by ourselves. If the technical issues in 3D printing figures out in the future, there will a drastic revolution can be seen, especially in patient compliance. Note- FDA approved 3D printing Drug is Spritam (Levetiracetam)
