This is a primer to spur conversations about the value of military service and the value of education benefits. Benifits of service can be both direct, such as the GI Bill, and indirect such as team management experience and organizational leadership skills developed as part of professional military education. It is great to see higher education institutions recognizing military education and providing a path to further develop Service Members and Veterans.
The faculty of Columbus State University continue to demonstrate the value they find in US Army Professional Military Education. They have approved 9 transfer credit hours for completion of ANY active duty Captains Career Course into the Masters of Organizational Leadership, Strategic Communications Management or Public Administration. Now the faculty has approved 9 transfer credits for completion of the Resident USASMA at Fort Bliss. Great news for our Sergeants Major! If you arrive at Bliss with your Bachelors it’s conceivable that you could complete the 7 additional MSOL-Leader Development classes online in parallel with your USASMA experience.
