Several members of the Philippine College of Veterinary Epidemiologists, composed of both "early career" and "established" professionals, attended the International Symposium on Veterinary Epidemiology and Economics in Sydney, Australia last week. We listened to many great talks which ignited our minds on what more can we do to strengthen veterinary services in terms of data analysis, development of online platforms to improve animal disease surveillance systems, and even life lessons on how to approach a more science-based decision making amid different competing interests in our industry.
Immensely grateful to Dr. Carolyn Benigno for empowering the younger set of Filipino veterinarians by encouraging us to write epidemiology-related studies, exposing us to the international arena, and introducing us to a wider network of veterinary colleagues!
Exposing our young colleagues from the Philippine College of Veterinary Epidemiologists to ISVEE17 and getting a glimpse of what should be and could be in strengthening our veterinary services.
