Historic sites need multiple types of people to make it successful. Big congrats to Elise Ecklund, our Project Manager of Pre-construction and Estimating, who recently celebrated her 5th anniversary at Hotel Rehabs! 🥳 🎉 We caught up with her to chat about her journey and got some great insights. 🏨: Why the Construction Industry, specifically?  👷♀️: I changed careers after 24 years in another industry and fell into this industry by accident, but I really enjoy it. It turns out that the skills I had built over my previous career were a great match for what I’m doing now! 🏨: What is one of your best memories from working at Hotel Rehabs? 👷♀️: I don’t know if I can pick just one! We’ve had so many great team bonding events, and even just little moments throughout the day. Renovating hotels is hard, so when we can find moments to laugh together, that’s the best. 🏨: What is your favorite project you have ever worked on at Hotel Rehabs? 👷♀️ This is a tough one – I always feel like a protective mother about the projects I work on. I would say I’m really proud of the Home2 Suites conversion we did for Dora Hospitality at Keystone Crossing in Indianapolis, and we also gave a major upgrade to the Hilton Garden Inn in Burlington, MA for Arbor Lodging! 🏨: What do you envision for yourself in the next 5 years of your career? 👷♀️: Lots more hotel renovations! Some of the projects we work on are wonderfully complex with lots of challenges, and I really like working with this team to meet those challenges. 🏨: What advice do you have for professionals looking to make a career change into construction? 👷♀️: Please come on in – this industry needs all the smart people it can get.
